@r-2 I watch him.. I don't understand why he eats beef every day when he had iron overload from his carnivore days..

Paul saladino eat fruits and carbs , including papaya . I am sure within no time he will be sick . Keep an eye on these people , I think they are the best n=1 experiments , in terms of diet ( vitamin A stuff)

@r-2 I am not so sure if he gets sick. He lives in Costa Rica. Has very high sun exposure, shit loads of zinc and B vitamins that are needed for RBP, no pesticides in his food etc.. I think he will be ok even with eating organ meats and fruit high in beta carotene IF he will stay in Costa Rica, surfing every day etc.. It's completely different than people who already have bad health, start taking accutane, have no sun exposure etc..

Or think of Ray Peat who's in his 80s and is sharp as a tack. He has a horribly cracking voice but remembers details from centuries ago. Not sure why he's doing pretty good for his age despite his high vitamin A consumption. As Jiri pointed out, it may be other factors as well which are relevant, like sun exposure and other minerals and vitamins that help in the metabolism of vitamin A, respectively it's excretion.

Damn, this Paul Saladino character looks great for his age. I'm younger but look not nearly as healthy as him and can't get up at five in the morning. Well, still some way to go. In the end, Epigenetics matters too: How was the health of your forbearer? I've read about imprinting over several generations, like 14, which sounds like your doomed if you had sick relatives. I think it's important to look for other avenues to improve health aside from diet when you're not well. Right now, I have a heat lamp shining at me. This definitely helps in the winter. Hydrogen gas sounds promising too.

What other things have you found useful to improve well-being?

Despite his high vitamin A consumption? Citation needed. The last time I saw this discussion, all sorts of caveats came up:

"Well he only eats an ounce of liver once a month"

"Oh yeah, he skims his own milk therefore it is actually V/A free"

I think he drinks 1% milk, 2-4 quarts per day. Even 0.1% fat milk still has like half the VA content of whole milk, bound in the casein and whey. Cheese is one of his favorite foods, he drinks orange juice every day pretty much, he eats other tropical fruits, he eats shrimp and other seafoods that are high in astaxanthin (a carotenoid), oysters, an egg per day etc.

This is what the diet of one of his biggest fans/supporters/acolytes/students https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGEbaCiih5o

They eat a ton of VA and at least some of them seem to be doing fine, or great even.

@salt I still eat good amount of whey protein. Can you show me any evidence that there is significant amount of vit A?

@jiri this might help -- https://tools.myfooddata.com/recipe-nutrition-calculator/173177/wt1/1/1
