Liver King no longer eating daily liver

I saw this video last week from Liver King and found it interesting that he calls out that he no longer eats raw liver every day. And he specifically ties that to his new tenth “Ancestral Tenet”: Evolve.
I find it interesting that Liver King is at least somewhat backing off his namesake. It makes me think there must be some reason he is cutting back. He is still far from the beef, beans, and rice diet (how much VA is in a raw bull testicle, anyway?) but I will be curious to hear him discuss moving away from “bone marrow and liver for breakfast, lunch, and dinner”.

Quote from Joe2 on September 16, 2024, 8:29 pmGuess he is still talking with Saladino.
Going to be confusing when he switches to all those vitamin A sources and still suffers after cutting his liver intake.
Amazing that guy is still going, considering.
Looks painful eh?
Wonder how much liver he ate.

Quote from lil chick on September 17, 2024, 4:45 amBone marrow and liver contain lots of other nutrients that could be helping him detox all the VA. It isn't like cod liver oil or butternut squash where there is no supporting benefit.
He could also be eating YOUNG liver rather than old. If you have ever raised your own chickens and seen the difference, it is HUGE. Purple vs yellow. It could be that there is not much VA in purple young liver.
If he is avoiding veggies, he also isn't having to detox from those toxins such as their complex load of VA and other pigments, oxalates, salicylates, nightshade, etc.
Well I'm having deja vu that I posted this on a thread about him last time, and also people mentioned he's out in the sun all day which probably also helps.

Quote from Hermes on September 17, 2024, 12:20 pmI don't think bone marrow contains much vitamin A, 1% of the RDA. Probably varies depending on the age of the cattle.

Quote from Joe2 on September 18, 2024, 12:23 amYep. marrow and young livers are probably what kept him so young looking. Otherwise he would probably look 50 years older in the last 2 years than he does.

So are lamb and veal liver pretty safe relative to the livers from adults of those animals?

If I was going to do liver I would eyeball any potential liver and not buy it unseen and try to locate it from young animals (of any type, really) If it is purple, I might buy some and take a child's-sized portion once per week. And see how that goes. There seems to be a group of MS patients trying out that idea, so at least there is an example of it helping some very sick people. I wouldn't do it raw, after my friend has had all this trouble trying to get basic care of worm infestation from US docs. Yikes.

Quote from Hermes on September 22, 2024, 10:54 am@jeremy @lil-chickOn the contrary, veal liver contains about twice as much vitamin A as beef liver. That's according to the Swiss Food Composition Database. I'd stay away from liver altogether. I don't think there's any good reason to eat liver, especially now that we know the havoc vitamin A does to the body. Let's not forget why we are here.
Quote from Joe2 on September 22, 2024, 10:57 amAre we arguing about whether or not to eat liver on this blog?
And what is the best liver to eat?

Quote from Hermes on September 22, 2024, 11:02 amI can't explain the rationale behind it, but proportionally more vitamin A needs to be stored in a small, i.e., young animal than in a larger liver. In one of Grant's books there is a graph that shows how serum vitamin A concentration rises in infants and then drops again at about age five, when the body starts to grow much larger, the storage capacity for the liver increases as the liver doubles in size or even quadruples in size. Retinol can also be stored in other organs, but the body prefers to store toxins in the liver. With age, this storage capacity is maxed out.
