Recommendations for Tick Bites?
Quote from Sarabeth on June 22, 2022, 8:26 pmI know this is off topic, but I think about infections a lot as relating to chronic vitamin A toxicity, and wonder if anyone has any thoughts re: what to do after tick bites? I am petrified of antibiotics, and know that there's huge complexity in individuals' reactions to bites and all the various diseases that ticks can spread.
This particular tick didn't look like it had been on long, and was either a large deer tick or a small Other Kind of Tick. The tick came off Sunday; now the bite is swollen more than most, and it's red and itchy, and four inches all around is red too. Not exactly a bullseye, but not NOT a bullseye. The tick-bitten family member is tireder than usual, has less appetite, and has a headache. Could be any number of reasons, but...this is the point where we always start trying to come up with a Plan.

Quote from Fred on June 23, 2022, 8:52 amHi @sarabeth-matilsky,
I would call your doctor and get a blood test to check for lyme disease. If you still have the tick it can be tested for lyme disease.
For information you can go to several websites: Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). Both websites have good information and recommend Doxycycline for early stages of lyme disease. However, ILADS recommends taking it for a longer period of time. You can also get good information from healingwell.com under the Lyme Disease section, "New to Lyme?....Start here!" thread. If you have any questions, let me know. I've had lyme disease and a coinfection. Fred

Quote from Carnivore on June 28, 2022, 1:04 pmThe theory of infectious diseases is a myth created to blame microbial helpers for diseases that are caused by eating toxic plant food. Microbes help to remove toxins from our bodies, or consume degenerating tissue. It's better to clean up one's diet than poison the body and our little helpers further with anti-biotics (anti-life medication). Then ticks will stay away naturally. They have no business with healthy individuals.

Are you getting this idea from Natasha Campbell? I heard her say some things along those lines on Judy Cho's podcast. I tried to listen with an open mind, but honestly, what she said seems just plain crazy, and what you're saying about ticks is one step crazier...ticks are not even microbes, they are arachnids like spiders. As far as I know, they will latch on to any mammal that passes by them and penetrate the skin if they can. In fact, plant chemicals on the skin or circulating in the blood would probably deter ticks, even if the plant chemicals are otherwise not healthy for the mammal in question.
It is quite possible that infections do mobilize toxins in the body, and therefore result in their eventual removal once mobilized. For example, it seems pretty clear that Vitamin A is mobilized in order to fight viral infections, which is probably why people who have Vitamin A toxicity and are already struggling to clear excess Vitamin A have so much trouble when they get a viral infection like Covid that results in even more Vitamin A metabolites circulating in the blood. However, we don't NEED infections to clear toxins, and ultimately the infections are doing unnecessary damage to the body.

Quote from Carnivore on June 29, 2022, 4:57 am@wavygravygadzooks Actually I didn't get this opinion from anywhere. It's more like an intuitive sensing that there is no fight going on in nature or our bodies as is believed by science and most people. From a metaphysical perspective there are no causes and no effects because everything happens at the same time. This means that ticks or whatever microbes they allegedly spread cannot be the cause of a disease.
What is in fact true, if one accepts that everything is happening in the eternal now, is that things appear together, for example tick bites can appear (or be perceived) together with a diseased body, because of their similar vibration. Contrary to that, a healthy body cannot be perceived as sick, no matter what microbes it hosts. We all have countless different species of microbes and fungi in our bodies but they are all benign as long as our tissues do not degenerate because of toxicity.
I realize this concept may be a bit hard to accept if one lives in the conventional paradigm and perhaps has no interest in spirituality of any sort, so never mind if you cannot agree with these assessments. We all create our reality based on our subconscious beliefs and it takes time and effort to change them for ones that are easier to live with. I for one do not adhere to beliefs that make me the victim of anything (like tick bites and subsequent diseases). I know that I will influence not just the health of my body by consuming certains foods but also everything else - mental, emotional and even causal. So with a completely healthy body the risk of even being bitten by a tick is effectively zero, because for the consciousness that experiences life as a human body there would be no more reason for that from a developmental perspective. It has moved beyond having to experience disease as a means to grow.

Well, there's an easy way to test your point of view...go expose yourself to any number of pathogens and see what happens. The scientist in me says you will be horribly disappointed with the outcome.

See, that's the thing with a scientific viewpoint. Creating your reality means you also create the things you are exposed to and your reaction to them. If there's no reason to get sick you will not create a situation in which you are exposed to any disease causing agents. For example, you would choose not to get vaccinated for covid and consequently not suffer any of the (side-)effects of the vaccine. In the end it's all illusory and takes place only in consciousness, but like a dream it nonetheless feels real as long as we're in it, so it's better to not do stupid things 😀

Quote from Hermes on June 30, 2022, 7:14 am@wavygravygadzooksThat was funny.@carnivoreI think you're stretching the idea of individual experience too far. Of course, there is a narrative to each individual life, but it's not to say that we're not rooted in the same world, which @wavygravygadzooks points out behaves according to certain laws, not discriminating individuals. These laws apply to anyone. Anything else would be nonsensical.

Of course, there is a narrative to each individual life, but it's not to say that we're not rooted in the same world...Actually each of us lives in his very own universe, populated by versions of other people that match his or her vibration. There is no such thing as a collective world or anything of the sort. You do not share a dream with others because there are no others, only that which you create in the mind, which is consciousness.
Ultimately there is only one of us here, dreaming that there are many. Does that mean I'm talking to myself here? It does, and yet it feels as if I don't. That's the magic of focus, of a contracted viewpoint. But I think this is a topic for a different thread.
