A Best Practices Diet
Quote from Joe2 on August 2, 2025, 1:27 pmQuote from ItsMe on August 2, 2025, 1:32 am@joe2 in regards to a general low A diet, you should watch the video Tanveen posted. There's a list in there of what foods are ok.
However customise the yes and no foods according to your own physical needs and issues. Just bc someone says to eat or not eat 'xyz foods' doesn't mean that it's the rigth thing for you.
Right. I meant what is ok for you?

Quote from Joe2 on August 2, 2025, 11:51 pmAh ok....hardly anything.
I mostly eat lean lamb&beef, coconut oil (and a little mct oil).
Currently,I'm experimenting with eating a few strawberries every couple of days and today I'm going to try some cooked kohlrabi.
Love kohlrabi. Only crucifer I can still eat. Are you getting enough to eat?

Quote from Joe2 on August 3, 2025, 11:32 amI don't know.....probably not.
The thing is that I don't feel hungry, I don't feel I'm not getting in enough food.
I do find that I love watching cooking vlogs and mentally salivating, not bc I'm hungry but bc of the food-freedom they have that they can eat whatever they want.
Lol,if I'll ever get to that freedom, I fear that I'll become 3x the size than I ever was,bc I'd probably be eating heaps the entire day of everything (and every combination) I'd been missing for so long.
It's not even refined stuff like pizza, fastfood and such, but wholefoods vegetables, fruits, fattier meats/fish,cheese and other dairy.

I've lost my breasts (well, the little bit I had to begin with). When I spread my arms I can count the bones of my chest.
Other than that, I still have cushioning everywhere. (I feel like I'm skinny fat).
However, the problem is that when I try to eat more, it all sticks straigth on my belly. Making me look even more out of proportion. I know probably cortisol, but I have a very low stress lifestyle. This pattern has been like this for years and I could never figure out what the problem was,so by now the only thing I can think of that's causing stress, is what's happening inside my body (gut infection, alcohol creation?) as it's not lifestyle or mental.
So your weight is steady? Do you walk? Ride bike? Swim? Anything?
To confirm, you are carnivore/keto, right?
How long?
Any symptoms besides esthetic preferences?

Quote from Joe2 on August 3, 2025, 10:31 pmQuote from ItsMe on August 3, 2025, 10:16 pm@joe2 Do I walk and do all those other things?
(Not laughing at you)
I came (forced) to this way of eating, bc I could hardly walk anymore. It's very slowly improving, but I can't walk far (and especially in the sunshine).
I don't like all these dietary labels, but I guess carnivore/keto comes closest to what I can tolerate. (So,it's not a dietary choice I made out of some kind of idealism).
The list of symptoms is plenty...
Sacroiliitis in that list?
If you got time for the list I do.
First time I could not walk (1990's) as I recovered, I was grateful to have an old-ish dog. Skinny beat looking guy having to stand 50' from home to rest before returning looks more normal with a dog on a leash sniffing around.

Quote from Joe2 on August 4, 2025, 1:04 pmSounds like you are doing well inspite of reactions painting you into a corner from past diet.
I tried various restrictive diets from the 1990's on, only found out about Grant in 2022.
Had I known then,.........................
Considering that list, guessing constipation is highest priority? My brief experience with failure and success is that liver is kicking out toxins as best it can after storage overflowed. Colon needs to keep up or kidneys, skin and other systems try to help out.
Feels like restricting to meat is our best bet when it all goes south. What to add in next becomes most pertinent issue.
I used to rely on coconut, MCT oil and whipping cream to keep things moving. That was during keto years. Took a lot of vA reading to grok I needed colon to run faster and better than the speed liver dumped toxic bile out. What colon did not dump out got reabsorbed.
That is beauty of muscle meat only diet. Hardly any more vA / copper / B6 gets taken in while bile production and dumping get minimized. Much less pain. Unfortunately, not much gets excreted.
Can you work with other ideas to get colon working besides MCT?

Quote from Joe2 on August 5, 2025, 1:25 amI "trialed" or "tried" various diets for the same reasons. Glad you sourced your knowledge so well and avoided all the pitfalls inherent in cults with gurus.
If you can not remember MCT flipping a trigger, you only needed another spoonful. Keep going. It will come.
Maybe kohlrabi like all crucifers is too sulfurous? Did you have any bloating? When you get stumbly do you feel dizzy or do you just feel like your legs refuse to do what you will?
I will not waste your time with other questions. You seem to have it all figured out. Best of luck.

Quote from Joe2 on August 5, 2025, 4:00 pmMCT has a marked laxative effect. It is immediate when the dosage tipping point is reached. Have seen it as low as a teaspoon and as high as 20 tablespoons.
Given your diet and whatever your previous diet was, my guess is that your tipping point (trigger dose) will be higher.
Not a recommendation to use it as such. In emergencies, it is good to know.
If not dizzy, then my guess is that your inguinal canal or related high traffic intersections (bottlenecks) are being pinched off. Constipation can do that. So can hernias. Any number of physiological obstructions to flow. The flow that is being cut off includes blood, lymph, nerve signals, anything that goes between your torso and your legs.
Eating keto carnivore has downsides. One is gut microbiome changes. Again without knowing how long you ate this way nor what you ate before being painted into this corner, this is all guessing from similarities to past experience. For sure though, your bifido bacteria is either hurting or gone. That is probably the least worrisome issue that comes to mind.
Gut flow is metered, slowed and sped up with a number of factors. They all interact and build on each other in which ever direction they tend. Fiber is a wonder but not a laxative. It helps to have something for the gut to grab on to and work the peristalsis on. It sucks if peristalsis is weak or non-existent. So fiber can help or hurt gut flow. It can speed it or slow it.
Peristalsis is triggered by bile hitting colon wall. Chances are not much bile is being dumped by liver into intestines and colon. Expected from such a diet. Your symptoms indicate that is what is happening. Without knowing what else you are taking to speed things along, not much more spitting in the wind I can do. Without knowing what you view as guru cult chatter and what you view as worthy concepts to test, again, I am just spitting my experiences into the wind.
And if I did not state it clearly, yes I have first hand experience with the symptoms you did write about. And yes, I have improved. And yes, I think I know the how of the improvement.
Again. Best of luck.
