Are there any decent processed foods?
Quote from Guest on December 14, 2018, 5:13 amSometimes it's hard to cook all the food you need, especially if you're ill and tired. Are there any processed foods that you can pretty much eat straight out of the bag or whatever? I've had some mixed experiences with potato chips fried in sunflower seed oil, maybe because of different brands using different cultivars and thus different carotenoid levels.

Potato chips in any amount other than a few handful is bad in my case because of too much fat/not enough carbs.
My current criteria when choosing processed food are:
- the less non recognizable ingredients the better
- no added colors, especially artificial and beta carotene/carrot juice concentrate
- not too much fat
I am eating store bought bread without any flare ups.
Nuts, seeds and dried fruits are other options and my goto for snacks.
Pre cut vegetables could be an option. You just need to boil or bake, easy enough.
