Andrew's Progress Log

PreviousPage 13 of 15Next

@christian We used only magnesium sulfate, lemon juice and olive oil. Stopped after about 55 times because no stones coming out anymore. This was about 20 years ago. In the beginning we felt chemicals coming out and burning when pooing, then the burning sensations stopped.

As to our vitamin A story, we are still avoiding vA and carotenes. 5 years and 7 months now. Never any cravings. Maybe 6 eggs in the whole last year. Big progress on memories and remembering in detail what happened and why. The only difficulties are catching Covid several times, which makes it difficult to evaluate our progress. We have been very lucky recently, and people are attracted to us. Uncovering slowly old health problems and fixing the things we had not realized hampered our progress. The journey is definitely worth it and I cannot imagine eating vA/carotenes ever again. Life is so interesting and fun! We laugh a lot…

@itsme yeah when I said "dehydration" I don't mean just drinking more water. It is about electrolyte balance. Soluble fiber for me is disaster as well. If I take psyllium husk for example I will cause serious constipation. In my case it is combination of hypothyroid and stress related low bile production and flow. If you don't have enough bile you will get constipated with soluble fiber. Good indicator is how your stool looks. People don't like to talk about it, but I don't give a shit. It will tell you what is going on. Healthy poop should be like dark brown sausage very easily escaping from the colon with zero effort and it should't flow in the toilet. If poop is not brown color every time and it has color depending on food you eat and closer to pale than dark and it floats there is no bile.. Is it your case? It is for me. THe only time I had perfect poop was when I was working summer job in different country away from all my stress sources. So my body felt calm and liver worked great. No supplement can help me with bile flow if I am under stress. That I know now and that's why I am done with supplements.. Maybe here and there some minerals, b vitamins, but that's it..

@itsme I actually don't know if you are female or male. If you are female and you were on copper IUD or birth control pills there is like 90% chance that you have issue with copper disregulation unless your diet was always heavy in copper antagonists mainly zinc(dailly red meat or supplement).. I know we are on low vit A forum, but copper issues are simply much more common in general population in my opinion especially for females..

@itsme stuff like candida are also related to iron, copper, zinc dysregulation. Like I showed to Andrew look at this website https://www.coppertoxic.com/symptoms if you can relate to something they mention here.. If yes then ideally you want hair test in US labs ARL or TEI. I really don't think there is any better way to balance the body than nutritional balancing.. You want add some blood test to it as well like thyroid panel, iron panel, ceruloplasmin with copper and zinc. Once you have data from hair and blood like that you can really target your issues with specific diet and supplements. You do that for 3-4 months and retest again. Things will change or not and so you know if your supplements should change as well.. The goal is to balance all elements and their ratios. To push toxic stuff out with stuff that is low in your body. Once you achieve that you should feel great. Balanced. But the older you are the longer it gets to rebalance the body. THe body will basically relive the old traumas, old injuries that were not fixed, just patched(because the body had no resources at that time) will surface again and the body will start rebuilding properly.. It is hard to describe to people how powerful elements like minerals are. People don't take it seriously at all because they are just that minerals.. It is not some drug that needs prescription. But people who know what I am talking about like when you are detoxing copper or other metals and how the state of mind and the body can change. It is crazy.. I am personally not in position where I could do full protocol they recommended me. Just by looking at that recommended protocol I would need like 6 months of doing nothing. No stress to work or whatever. Because I know it would crash me. Like i couldn't function. I would be so tired and unable to do anything and that is exactly what I need. So the body can actually start rebuilding. But for now I can't do that. I have to run on emergency mode basically, but once I will be in that position to go on long vacation basically. I will commit to it 100%. I know that is the only way I could fix my body on deep level..

This is also great video on mineral balancing . Btw sorry Andrew again I know this is your vlog heh..

It sounds like you experience amazing continuous benefits. I wish people were attracted to me. So far, the magic you describe hasn't happened for me. I really believe that avoiding vitamin A alone isn't effective for everyone. Perhaps the initial functionality is the dividing line. Or maybe it's the overall vitamin A load. For some, like you, the benefits seem to accumulate the longer you avoid vitamin A, while for others, new problems arise. I wish you continued luck and more reappearing memories. Thank you for sharing your update!

@christian Thanks for your good wishes! Avoiding vit A is not the only thing we are doing.

We have stopped eating outside or eating anything not made from scratch in 2005. This because everything is contaminated with MSG under different names to make you eat more. This disturbs the balance of the CNS and leaves you perpetually in sympathetic mode. To survive you have to drug yourself with foods or supplements that stop you eliminating vit A. Remember Jenny and her Marmite, or was it Bovril or something like that? It was catastrophic for her.

We now eat heartily only once a day, taking time and care to prepare a good meal. Today was fish curry and rice (curry prepared entirely from separate fresh spices), tomorrow leg of lamb stewed with parsnips and potatoes.

Grant has no MSG in his prison food.

Apart from this we use red light on the head and the liver. Also we spend 20 mns per day in cold water, around 18-21 degrees C. This lowers inflammation.

I am sure we feel better without vit A. Maybe those who don’t see results are blocking the detox by forcing the body into sympathetic mode. When we feel whipped by stress for one reason or another, a good glass of vodka helps immediately.

And I forgot, we don’t do sports, apart from sitting in the waves. But everyday we practice some kind of yoga and music to focus the mind. These are our secrets

And since my last post we have just been invited to a barbecue! Plenty of meat no vit A and cooked by someone else! They do like us more!

@ourania nice it seems that you live that low stress ideal life with people you love to be around. That's perfect for the body and in terms of eating out I think the biggest issue are seed oils. Even high end restaurants use seed oils.. Btw when you said "To survive you have to drug yourself with foods or supplements that stop you eliminating vit A"

Is there some summary what foods and supplements slow down or speed up detox? I know Dr.Smith talks about it all the time, but i would love to have some overview. I know vit C lowers ADH/ALDH enzymes a lot. Lemon juice looks like speeds up ADH but somewhat lowers ALDH. Here in Czech Rep. is 7am right now. I just had juice from 1 lemon with 1/4tsp of sea salt in warm water. I didn't even finished the whole glass and I had strong nausea. I had to take deep breaths so I don't throw up lol.. I think it stimulated my sluggish liver/gallbladder heh. I have to try this with lime juice. Lime juice should increase ALDH as well not just ADH.. Will do liver flush this weekend for sure. Hopefully will not throw up all that oil and lemon juice.. I wonder why people use grapefruit juice when it inhibits major detox enzyme CYP3A4.. I think lime juice should be probably the best choice..

Isn't MSG mostly found in Asian food? Like Thai takeout? I agree that cooking from scratch is best. That's what I do, too. Well, I don't really cook because I eat a lot of raw meat. Sometimes I cook something for myself because I crave it. A burger, for example. A wrap. Some soup. Steak tartare. Then, I put in some effort.

I also do red light therapy. I also do coffee enemas. These days, I'm pretty busy with health interventions. I'm often outside, too. I sunbathe at noon. In the evening, I lie outside under a tree.

I totally agree; it's all about being in a parasympathetic state most of the time. That's when the body can actually heal.

It's great how your life flows.

MSG is everywhere because it is the motor of addiction. If a manufacturer does not put enough people will choose another brand. So much that it is used in ink. For packaging. You will instinctively choose a pack of washing powder because the ink on the box contains MSG. It comes under many names, some of them don’t have to be declared. If you eat anything cooked by someone else, you can be sure it is there. Because they are addicted.

We also eat raw meat and enjoy it. But beware that the MSG is in the sauce you add. Parasympathetic flow is immediately destroyed by MSG.

That was an interesting read! I wasn't aware that gelatin could be problematic as well. That would explain my bad reaction to the Great Lakes gelatin that Ray Peat recommended when I was eating a "pro-metabolic diet." The naturally occurring glutamate probably isn't as problematic as when MSG is added to a product or when a product is heated. Whole foods are best. Raw foods are good, as is gentle cooking (this is how I cook tender chicken breasts: I bring a pot of water to a boil, add the chicken, turn off the heat, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. It comes out really nice. Cooking meat in water is probably the safest way to eat it aside from eating it raw). Also, there's a big difference between pasteurized and raw milk. A little raw milk doesn't bother me. But pasteurized milk is a definite no-go for me.

Do you think citric acid is a problem?

I'm thinking of buying a molybdenum supplement in the form of molybdenum citrate.
