Bruising
Quote from Audrey on July 5, 2023, 2:17 amHas anyone ever herard of oxalate coming out of tissues and causing bruising? I’ve been experiencing joint (?) pain, stiffness in wrists, fingers, feet and bruising easily on arms and legs, even on one of my breasts there is a bruise. I’ve wondered too if taking activated charcol could be giving me a K deficiency. Or if taking the EPO could be causing bruising. I’ve read that it is possible but why does this happen? I think I will stop with the EPO and continue with the charcol bc the charcol is really helping me. I had 4-5 weeks of feeling great and then lots of weird symptoms suddenly. I was also quite exhausted for a week or two (under a lot of stress, moving, work and heat) but this is the first time I have felt exhaustion on this diet. I can’t tell if what is going on is pushing detox too hard (I don’t think so?) or deficiency. Anyway, I’m eating blueberries again and lettuce. But curious about oxalate.

Quote from Hermes on July 5, 2023, 5:35 amThis sounds confusing and a little concerning. I hope you're not too frustrated by this seeming setback. You will get out of it eventually.
Vitamin K has helped me, as has lying naked under an infrared light, it's very soothing. I've noticed I've been bumping into things more lately, as if my coordination is off.

Quote from Eio on July 5, 2023, 6:13 amI think the EPO might be increasing estrogen which will cause the bruising and clotting. I don't know this for a fact but I think EPO is supposed to be one of those things that help menopausal women but actually increase estrogen in some manner.

Quote from lil chick on July 5, 2023, 6:22 amInteresting. Once again we end up hitting a wall with supplementation. Perhaps this is your cue to stop taking EPO and just try to make sure you are getting a wide range of essential fatty acids from regular food.
Perhaps my latest problems with my ear are the same thing, the wall that happens when you get to the end of the honeymoon stage of supplementation.

Quote from Inger on July 5, 2023, 6:37 amThat is such a delicate balance maybe and taking extracted oils for a longer time might disrupt it. Maybe it then gets too much?
I tried the essential oils and it made me feel off somehow, really heavy. It was weird so I stopped it.
Now I just use the EPO on my skin until the bottle is gone.
Karen Hurd tells to stop all supplements when healing, and that might in fact be quite wise I guess. The body can finally be able to find its own true balance with real food. I have become so careful with supplements... I realize often they just cause me troubles. Sooner or later. Somehow it feels real good to get the nutrients from real food. It feel so right, somehow. Like the food becomes the medicine. Its so much more gentle and less risky. And it tastes better too 🙂

Quote from Audrey on July 5, 2023, 6:38 am@eio I wonder too if it is estrogen related. I will stop taking it and see how it goes. I also wonder if maybe it's something that needs to be cycled? Not taken daily
@lil-chick yes, I agree

Quote from lil chick on July 5, 2023, 6:51 amI have been taking one capsule about every 3rd day. When the bottle is gone, I will probably hit up EPO only when my lips seem to need it?
The other day, though, on the good side of EPO, I found that I was much more dextrous with my fingers while shuffling cards. I've always been good with cards, but this year I've been unable to do the fancy shuffling.

@inger I felt really good with EPO at the start of it, my skin improved from brittle to soft, a bit of eyebrow growth happened... but now I just feel so heavy and sore in my body.

Quote from puddleduck on July 5, 2023, 7:29 amBruising sounds serious. Can you get checked for B12 deficiency @audrey? To little B12, K, and vitamin C can can contribute to bruising easily, apparently.
Even the potential oxalate symptoms could be related to a B12 deficiency, at least Chris Masterjohn thinks so:

Apparently EPO might increase the effect of blood thinners? I hope stopping it helps.

Are you consuming flaxseed or chia every day, @audrey? Omega 3 deficiency seems to be related to low energy levels and inflammatory pain, too.
