Calcium

PreviousPage 10 of 10

I had no idea that there is a type of calcium called "hydroxzapatite" I only knew about stuff like calcium carbonate/citrate etc.. Is anyone here using this stuff? https://cz.iherb.com/pr/now-foods-calcium-hydroxyapatite-caps-120-capsules/459?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkdO0BhDxARIsANkNcrepoW7LAMUFLUTd4kjs7NYWVl0MF2G9EVcOaWcW-xyMtq4QDtnCAoEaAmcjEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

So far I don't know what to think about it. I sprinkle like half of the capsule on each of my meals. I don't know if my stomach acid is even strong enough to dissolve this "sand" like texture and actually absorb the minerals from it..

In my opinion I would avoid phosphate minerals. Food (meats-grains-legumes-cheese...) is already rich in phosphates, rather it would be better to balance with calcium and magnesium. Excess phosphorus is critical to health.

For external use, toothpaste and mouthwash, hydroxyapatite bonds momentarily to teeth and provides a barrier. I have been using them for many years, a year on a raw vegan diet had ruined my tooth enamel so hydroxyapatite was my salvation from dental sensitivity.

If you don't have enough stomach acid to digest and absorb calcium carbonate or citrate, the best solutions are chelates, especially calcium lysinate.

If you have no effect with calcium supplements you could try magnesium, or both taken separately... if you need them.
