Copper and Vitamin A - six months on low VA diet
Quote from bludicka on October 5, 2019, 12:06 amAfter six months of low VA diet I felt worse and worse... I found out that I have a strong copper deficiency (I take zinc only sporadically). I've been supplementing copper for three weeks and I still need it. My symptoms of copper deficiency: I am very cold all the time - hypothyroid, low back pains are worse, knee pains.. copper is very important for collagen, I'm very susceptible to infection, yeast problems (copper deficiency can dramatically reduce the production of neutrophils, white blood cells), anxiety. After I started to replenish copper, my symptoms of vitamin A detox got worse, especially my brain fog, fatigue.
I think vitamin A works as a copper antagonist, not only copper, the most symptoms of VA toxicity can be due to suppression of function of many vitamins and minerals, D, E, K, zinc, copper, calcium... But this connection with copper is probably the strongest for me. The body on this diet slowly balances biochemical imbalances and deficits.
I think people who feel better on this diet after just a few weeks may not have such severe imbalances, but I have practically nonstop detox symptoms and felt bad, not able to work. Especially in the evening comes overwhelming fatigue and the need for sleep for 10-12 hours.

If you are including cauliflower in your diet, can you please drop it for a while and see if that makes a difference.
I'll explain more later.
Thanks
Grant

Quote from Mokus on October 5, 2019, 7:11 pmBludicka glad you discovered the copper /zinc balance. I just got mine tested and I need some zinc. I agree that it does take time and patience.
Cauliflower? Grant I am curious. Look forward to hearing more

Quote from bludicka on October 5, 2019, 9:05 pmI don't eat cauliflower, very sporadically, maybe once a month. There may be a connection with the thyroid function and cruciferous vegetables. Healthy thyroid function is very important for detox! But I am very curious to hearing more.
And I respond to the copper supplement almost immediately, I take relative large doses 6 mg every 12 hours, I get warm, the thyroid function gets better, I have more energy, better mood, it is dramatic every time. The body literally absorbs this mineral when it gets rid of toxic vitamin A.
