Covid vaccine

I'd like to hear opinions about the new Covid vaccine. It doesn't seem to be like the ones Grant talked about in his books that contained vitamin A. I've read that it causes a reaction to the spikes on the surface of the virus only, not to the part of the virus that causes illness. The spikes are the way the virus gains entry into the living cell and the vaccine is said to prevent that from happening.

Anyone have more information?

It's a brand new type of vaccine (mRNA). From what I've read, they found a way to send RNA into cells and trick them into producing part of the spike protein, so that our immune response can create antibodies to those.

They don't know how long the immunity lasts nor if you will need repeated doses.

I don't like that it is our body that produces the harmful protein. We don't know if it will have side effects long term. I would much prefer classic vaccines at this point. At least, I know I have survived many of those.

I've also seen some warnings for those with autoimmune conditions.

Thanks, Sonia. Yes, I've seen the warnings too, but I thought they might be warning people with respiratory allergies and those who might go into shock. I have a lot of allergies (food and topical) so don't know what it means for me.

I recently read this blog post after following another discussion on the vaccine on a different forum.  I found it interesting.

Thank you, Rachel. That's pretty much the gut feeling I had.

Most aren't aware of any of that. This morning on the radio the host was asking his interviewee if she was excited to see jabs in arms on television last night. They were all pretty happy about it, not questioning anything.

Sometimes I wish I was still ignorant of everything and could go on about my business without worrying about any of this.

I agree with Arena, that I thought for sure the article would be about more spiritual stuff given the blogger does seem to have articles that mention God.  But the particular article that Rachel is talking about is not religious and it is very interesting.

It is understandable that when the topic is human DNA people's thoughts might just turn to spirituality/god/creation etc.  I can totally see how spiritual ideals and beliefs might be a factor in deciding whether to vax.

I was raised pro-vaccine and it took me a very long time as a young mother getting my children vaxed and myself vaxed before I became an anti-vaxer.  I think it can take something happening close to home to make you decide against vax.   I feel that I totally "get" both sides of the fence, as I have lived on both sides.  I understand why people WANT vaccines to be safe and effective.  Sadly, I just don't think they ARE.

@judy if you are very allergic then you should be very cautious about the RNA vaccines (such as Pfizer and Moderna). Many people have gone into anaphylactic shock after receiving the Pfizer vaccine, and if you are somebody who has a lot of allergies it makes you more susceptible to that risk.

The reason for this reaction might be that the RNA vaccines contain PEG: https://childrenshealthdefense.org/news/a-dangerous-inactive-ingredient/

James Lyons-Weiler has also been raising concerns about how these vaccines are training the immune system to recognize and destroy certain epitopes. Epitopes are the parts of the antigen (in this case parts of the spike protein) to which antibodies bind. There is a an overlap between some of the rna sequences in the vaccines (and in the SARS COV-2 virus) and rna sequences in other human proteins. This could induce auto-immunity. I for one will not be getting a COVID vaccine, nor will my children.

Agree with Josh. There' s a lot of history of RNA vaccine technology on STATnews written by Damian Garde. Having read as much as I could, it seems as though it has not undergone enough trials.    A risk for anyone that already has autoimmune disease or liver issues. Covid is risky too. Everyone should have the right to an informed choice.
