Diet review
Quote from r on December 4, 2019, 4:17 amHi everybody
I was wondering if you guy can comment anything on the diet I have been following for few months now .
First a little bit a background about my condition . I overdosed on retinol ( multivitamins ) and cod liver oil before 3 years ago . I was hyper toxic . My symptoms were terrible . So with that pretext I think it would take more time for my body to deplete than for those who had chronic toxicity over food . For the first year I didn't follow a strict diet , was lacking in protein , but did a mistake of having foods containing beta carotene ( I was under the notion that only retinol wasn't supposed to be taken ). Since past few months I have been on a restricting diet and I have seen some really positive changes towards recovery
My daily diet consists of
1 : Beef ( 500 GM ~) with salt and little bit of olive oil
2 : White /brown rice3 : Cauliflower and potatoes ( first I boil it to remove any toxins and cook with little bit of mustard oil and salt / and a trace of turmeric )
4 : 1/2 whole egg and 5 egg whites with brown/ white bread in the morning for breakfast5 : Some times nuts like almonds and walnuts
6: Occasionally like once in a month I eat croissants with almonds / creme and coffee/ junk food ( but that I do once a while , not often )
A reply would be highly appreciated 🙏
Thank you

Does the food you have chosen taste good to you? One thing I have found is I only need about 1/5 the amount of spice to give foods the same oomph that they used to have.
I think your diet has less VA than mine, and I still feel as though I'm detoxing.
I did have a dream that I shouldn't be adding back whole eggs yet. I use a strip of bacon to oil the pan and give my egg whites flavor. I also will use some bits of mushroom and onion for flavor.
I think you will progress well, that is just my guess.

Yeah I not that crazy about spices , even a bit of them works for me , just for taste and color
For reference these are the following improvements I went though following this restrictive diet , but sometimes symptoms still flare up . I think thats the part of the process only
1 : Hair thickening( back to normally how it was before VA overdoes )
2 : No more colitis ( bleeding with stools ) I think it was caused by eating too many black beans . Still if I eat a little of it I will start bleeding, dont know the reason for this ? anyone ????
3 : More energy , mental clarity , no anxiety ( only during symptom flareups ) , no nervousness
3 : And oh better eyesight , before this diet I would literally go blurry blind in evening , now I can see distant objects much clearly , I think this will improve more
There still a long road to go , I think on this diet another 1-2 years I will recover significantly more and hopefully deplete most of VA

Quote from bludicka on December 4, 2019, 8:10 amI am on this diet for exactly 8 months and I'm still very very toxic (I am far from any symptoms of VA deficiency as Anika wrote here). Yesterday I had after a long time more chickpeas and again symptoms of worsening - intracranial pressure headaches, very dry hair, skin, fatigue, sleepiness. I decided to follow a more strictly low VA for the next months (beef, rice white/whole, potatoes, white lima beans - low oxalate for folate and molybdenum, magnesium, for copper - walnuts, sunflower seeds, mushrooms, chestnuts, sauerkraut, one peeled apple, nutritional yeast for folate and b vitamins, rice miso, rice milk with calcium, high oleic sunflower oil, chicory coffee, liver tea, choline, lemon...). Befor low VA diet my gut was in a very bad condition (despite the GAPS diet) - burning pains, inflamed, bleeding and I had problems with digestion of beans, this is much better now. I think serious toxic people really need 2-3 years on a very low VA diet... My feeling is that only now my brain is beginning to remove VA, the body always first reduces toxins in more accessible places and the brain is the last (and vice versa, when the capacity of the liver, organs, body fat is exceeded, the body begins to transfer toxins and heavy metals into the brain, the brain is 60% fat). And I think that people who don't have such a toxic brain are making faster progress.

Quote from MaryAnn on December 13, 2019, 10:55 amHi Bludicka,
Have you ever tried removing rice, beans and potatoes from your diet? The rice definitely increased my son's ADHD symptoms and decreased his mental focus and motivation. Potatoes cause lots of of inflammation for me, probably the solanine. Mushrooms, walnuts and chicory are very high in salicylates, which can also cause brain problems. I have an almost zero salicylate tolerance, so I have to choose my food carefully.

Yes, I did GAPS diet in the past and GAPS diet is grains, beans, potatoes free diet. I've never noticed a link between rice and brain problems, the rice is the most tolerated grain for me - for my gut. Buckwheat is high in oxalates, corn is also a problem for me. But I have never noticed a connection between my brain problems and diet - I can eat only meat, vegetables, fruits and and the state of the brain and thinking doesn't change. My brain problems are permanent - actually with this low VA diet, the condition changes, either improving or getting worse. AND the longer I supplemented VA, the more I started to have memory and brain fog problems. I actually have no intolerances, food allergies, just chelation and VA toxicity has damaged my intestine. I have also read about the salycilates, but I do not have such symptoms.

It was just a thought. I hope your issues slowly improve on the low vitamin A diet. I think it can take a very long time. After 21 months on zero A I still have a bit of rosacea red bumps and dryness on my face. I thought it would be gone long ago!
