Eating Beef fat

Hi

I have been on a low vitamin A diet since past 2 months , definitely my heathy is improving . I would like to know suggestions about eating beef fat . I prepare sirloin steak everyday and rice . sirloin has some fat content . Somewhere in this forum only , I read fat might be beneficial during  vitamin A detox, but I am not sure about that claim yet . Does beef fat have vitamin A content , I am sure that port fat has , but not about beef

past history : Overdosed on retinol and fish oil ( and sweet potatoes 😛 )

A reply would be highly appreciated

Thanks !

Beef fat does have VA, but very minimal amounts, it should also have phytanic acid which could be helpful.  The saturated fat content should be protective against VA (emulsifying the VA).   I think it is ok to have beef fat 🙂

Hi R,

Based on some studies, I do believe that beef fat will contain trace amounts vitamin A. The amount of vitamin A probably depends on how the animal was raised and fed. So, the question then becomes: does the benefit of the added beef fat outweigh the risk of the additional vitamin A intake? I think it probably does. But, I don’t know for sure.

I consume the beef fat, and never felt that I had a negative reaction to it. I have no way of knowing for sure if it actually accelerated or slowed my progress. But. someone else has reported making good progress on a diet of mostly ground beef.

Thank you gents ! Appreciate it

Anyone else feel worse when eating more beef fat? I find that when I strain the fat out from ground beef and blot it with a paper towel i feel much better. I am worried that this may slow progress or something though

I would tend to feel worse with more beef fat although I continue to eat a moderate amount as I believe it helps in the long run. I could be wrong though!

Oh okay I thought it was just me. I'm only rinsing it(since i use 85% lean) to keep some fat to be safe
