Esophagus Pain

i've recently been experiencing esophagus pain when swallowing food like rice, almost as if its irritated. Could this be a detox symptom? Am I eating too much rice?

I don't cheat on the diet often, but I was curious and went for a softer food like bread, and it went down without any pain just fine.

I looked this up on google and first thing that popped up was esophagus cancer lol... (really REALLY hoping that isn't the case and its just irritated.)

@thomas, This may or may not relate to what you are experiencing. I started a low A diet at the end of February and I had an uncomfortable, full feeling in my throat for a number of days, off and on, during the first 2 months. I just assumed it was related to my new diet. I was thinking my thyroid might have become a bit swollen (detox symptom?) but I can't be sure. If our thyroids do swell, for whatever reason, this can push on the esophagus and affect swallowing.

I cook my rice (white jasmine) with a bit more water than suggested which perhaps explains why I didn't have problems swallowing. The feeling of fullness in my throat eventually went away.  Hope this helps.

thanks for the response @sheilae

Fortunately, i was just panicking and it went away overnight. Guessing it was good old inflammation (probably from detox)

@thomas, Glad you are feeling better!
