Of course, I wish @jiri the best of health, and if he want to move to a sunny place and I can help him, it would be a pleasure.
Can you please link me those threads talking about Michele's recovery? I would love to take a look at them.
Thank you for the fiber advice. By husk, do you mean Psyllium husk? I'm going to try this.
Right now I'm on fruit breakfast, light digestion lunch (but nutritious, with meat), and fruit dinner plus yogurts if necessary.
With this diet I've noticed that I can feel my stomach much more efficiently, so I can solve which foods are triggering my stomach symptoms. I have some bad reactions to kiwi and didn't know before, I'm registering all this on an excell.
On the other hand, I think it's too early to feel any changes in my eyes, so they still are dry as hell.
I'm putting my efforts on being aware of my mind's thoughts to not overthink every time about my problems, the symptoms etc And try to give my recent anxiety problems some relief. This is probably the most challenging thing.

Quote from Liz on August 7, 2023, 10:39 pmHi Carlos,
I honestly do not remember but probably when discussing carotenoids. When I search for Michele these threads come up: https://ggenereux.blog/discussion/search/?keywords=Michele
I do wish she would provide an update though, as I don't believe her choice of diet will be healthy in the long run, and I do not believe it will work for everyone just because it worked for her. With that said, the diet I felt the absolute best on, and had abundant energy on, was a high fruit vegan diet. One period I lived in Thailand, running long distance in the morning and weights+muay thai in the afternoon, eating like 5-6kilos of tropical fruits a day (+ an obscene amount of som tam, green papaya salad). Until I crashed...and I had no period for all of my stay. And a lot of my hair fell out. I was protein and fat deficiant for sure. After the marathon I experienced extreme hunger for the first time and I just ate and ate and ate (cooked foods as well) and my head and face got super swollen which made me think I probably burned my adrenals... I have trained myself to pieces several times on several diets because I have no balance. When I love something I do it 200% until I crash. So with less training and a more balance diet I might have thrived for longer. I think back to those days from time to time. Because man did I have energy!! But would I do it again. No way 😅. Fruit makes me feel great though and when I shy away I don't thrive so I eat fruits. If they make you feel great too, and if they help your problems, that's great.
The kiwi issue you have is interesting. Kiwi is high in oxalates, which could be one reason you react to them. Or not. Just a thought 😊

Quote from Hermes on August 8, 2023, 6:30 amI went to Thailand once for a semester break when I was on exchange in Singapore. The fruit was absolutely delicious. The people were incredibly sweet too. I never got so much attention in my life, it helps to be white. There is this frowned upon phenomenon where men go to Thailand to bring back a Thai woman to marry. After that time I understood why this happens. European women are just much less responsive, not as forthcoming and more entitled.

edited to add: sorry for the diversion from the topic. Although I suppose the connection might be that the health of the young people might be affecting dating in the west... In fact, it does seem to me like young women can be caricatures of yin, while young men now seem to have a deficiency of yang. Perhaps too much estrogen all around.
Dating is so strange right now. I knew a beautiful, smart girl who sat at home a lot and no one took her on dates. It seems only "group dates" ever happen any more. Well, I'm an old coot but it seemed strange to me. A guy from Asia saw what was going on, wooed her, and scooped her up. Isn't that a turn of affairs? In my opinion, he still believed in the dream of dating, marriage, family life... while many young men around here are only into the group meetups and the video games.

Quote from Liz on August 8, 2023, 11:06 pmTotally sidetracking. Dating culture is so different between countries. I live in Scandinavia (or rather northern europe nowadays) I am tall, fit, smart and pretty and I have never been asked out like ever. Okay, one time by a dutch handyman who came by my house to fix something, which I accepted because anyone who dares deserves a chance. Asking out here is just not in our culture. I think people want to but are afraid to be turned down. So only chance to meet someone is through friends or at a bar where everyone is drunk and therefore no longer shy, but are looking for a shag, which is not really dating 😂 And nowadays It's all about the apps. Like tinder, which is 99,99999% booty call and 100% superficial meat market with a lot of infidelity. I'd rather stay single than go through THAT 😂
My thai friends showed me the backsides of tourist industry and took me to the tourist places filled with prostitution. (I lived as a thai amongst other thai people (in my own typical thai apartment)). They told me many poor villages sell their daughters to the cities for prostitution and the money they send home support the village. Many people working in the city (i.e. Bangkok) sleep in local parks on a thin blanket because they cannot afford housing there and home is too far away. I slept put with them one night to get the experience. Many girls and women want to leave to get a better life and financial stability so they tey to meet foreigners. My local fruit girl's dad was an alcoholic, stealing her income. Her Mother and Sister lived in sweden with swedish men they had met in Thailand. One of their friends wanted to marry My fruit girl but she didn't want to because he was fat (her words not mine). We kept in touch after I left and one day a few years later she called me, she had moved to sweden and married that guy and was now pregnant. She was happy because she no longer had to struggle financially. Infedility is a big thing there, like 80% pf married men go to prostitutes and their wives know about it but has nothing ti say or do. It's a part of the culture. The view on women is pretty low. I was there as a missionary (basically), i got to meet and talk to a lot of people besides training and eating wonderful fruit. The atmosphere is really different there and not in a good way. But Scandinavia has many lonely men living out on the countryside, so if a lonely man meet a poor woman who struggles they can give each other love and stability, personally I do not see anything wrong with that.
Should probably move this topic to its own thread. Sorry Carlos 🙈

@liz I just had to respond to this dating thing..lol we should make a thread about it 😉
but yeah I live in Scandinavia too (Finland, but I am Norwegian) and here and also in Germany I have been asked out many times.... and I am not super pretty lol But maybe because I am a waitress and sometimes men that are customers are asking you out but also I have been asked out on the beach, at a tanning salon, and yes also in bars of course. Once even led to a wonderful relationship that lasted for some years.
I totally agree the dating culture has gotten pretty rough. I never was on tinder. I have tried another German dating app though for a month. I dated 2 guys from there that seemed like a great catch (lol) and I did not fall in love with them and they were too hurry up and told me they loved me already after 1st date and one guy wrote me like 10 emails in a day OMG so I gave up on it! I want it to go slower I have burned myself several times already. Oh my, now I have kinda given up on dating...lol I just want to heal and not have stress. Maybe i will start dating in a year or so.
But honestly its sometimes also annoying to have guys being interested even if you are not. Its so painful to say no because you dont want to hurt their feelings :(...
Also I was thinking if one is very very pretty, like Liz, maybe guys get afraid to ask out. Liz you need to make yourself a little uglier 😉 🙂
