Global improvement but still eczema/DS
Quote from NicoFF on June 8, 2024, 7:36 amHello everyone,
I have started a low VA diet for 1 year. During the first 6 months I followed a classical "Grant's diet". During the last 6 months I added eggs (following @andrew-b) which improved dizziness (which was coming back) and digestion.
My initial symptoms where eczema, seb derm, constipation, bloatings, dizziness, insomnia and lack of energy.
My "protocol" is : VA < 20 % RDA (generally 10 %), 1 egg (+ 700 mg choline bitartrate).
The result is an overall improvement of 40 % which is quite good, except for skin issues !
Eczema is a bit out of control since I added eggs (but I'm not sure of the correlation).
Does anyone of you have any explanation or suggestion ?
Il doesn't make sense to me that everything improves except eczema... (is it a form of detox or is there a hidden cause to eczema ?)
Thanks,

Quote from Janelle525 on June 8, 2024, 8:06 amI trialed eggs for 16 days and my eczema/psoriasis got worse. I have stopped now. You also need to be careful of choline bitartrate, it can break down into trimethylamine before you even take it which is the dreaded TMA which turns into TMAO depending on some factors. I would consider switching to sunflower lecithin.

Thanks,
On egg yolks, my symptoms briefly got worse, then modestly better (dizziness less, weight/muscle gaining, tinnitus lessened, skin eruptions/sun tolerance drastically improved).
But, the game changer for me was adding in sourdough made from spelt and butter (european style...which is mostly white, and unlikely to contain annatto).
I am only around 400-500mcg/day of vA (mainly from animal forms), but the sandwiching of choline/betaine and actual retinol (less likely to be the destructive forms of anhydroretinol or apocarotenols in plants).
Sorry to hear about your ezcema getting worse, though!
