Glutathione is a potential antidote to Accutane

Glutathione have thus far been mostly overlooked, and I've only supplemented with it and it's precursors sporadically. Although I'd like to try it every day for a month before reporting anything, it's effect and the theory behind it have been too promising not to share. Instead of making a comprehensive post detailing every aspect which is going to take time, I'd rather just get the word out quickly for those suffering from acne treatment.

Increasing your glutathione levels can be achieved through supplementation of cysteine, glycine and even glutathione directly, although it has reportedly poor uptake.

[Deficient synthesis of glutathione underlies oxidative stress in aging and can be corrected by dietary cysteine and glycine supplementation]

It's worth mentioning that glutathione (GSH) and glutathione transference pi-1 (GSTP1) are involved in the response to vitamin A in more forms than just 13-cis and all-trans retinoic acid. It's mobilized in the presence of beta carotene and GSTP1 acts as binding proteins for zeaxanthin.

Last I read, NAC is a better supplement to take to get glutathione levels up.

@joe That seems to be the consensus, I went ahead and ordered some for comparison.

Yeah and glyphosate takes up glycine’s place in the body so that would cause glutathione synthesis issues.

Also glyphosate shuts down the CYP enzymes responsible for Retinoic acid catabolism so that prevents it from leaving the body leading to VA poisoning.
