Help me understand the connection: Liver and Kidney Failure, Hormone Problems, "Vit D Deficiency"

Hi All,

An acquaintance has recently asked me for advice concerning some pretty serious health issues. I see many similarities between issues that my family has suffered from, but not all of this stuff is anything I feel qualified to address. I'd like to summarize some info for her so she can take some steps toward healing (and have ANY action steps besides the very drastic ones that are done to her when she ends up in the hospital). Could anyone point me toward threads on this forum or other info that could be helpful?

Here is a summary of her situation:

She has celiac disease and is completely gluten free. I believe she eats a fairly standard American diet. She had a total hysterectomy last year and is now on a very low dose hormone replacement dose (Estrodiol).

She is in liver failure. She formerly worked as a paramedic, but then fractured her back due to "low vitamin D" levels before they diagnosed celiac disease. So she had to retire a couple years ago.

She got her Covid vaccine in February of this year and went into liver and kidney failure from the vaccine. Her kidneys have started working again but her liver is still really struggling. The part of her liver that breaks down bilirubin is working, so she isn't jaundiced, but the part that filters out toxins...is not. So the ammonia levels in her blood are running very high and that’s why she was recently in the hospital. She is on medicine to bind the ammonia and pass it out of her body. She has never had any liver or kidney issues and drinks very very little alcohol (maybe 1 drink or less per month).

Thank you for any help as I try to help her begin to unravel all this stuff!

Story sure does sound suspect for VA overload.  Also I'd think about B12/b complex in celiac, Couldn't the gut problems be impeding absorption?    Some people on a GF list I was on really felt the fiber konjac helped re-fix the gut.

She needs to think low-toxin diet.  I wonder if things like clay or charcoal would help with that.   Grant's diet is so good at being low toxin without having to study up on  how ubiquitous food chemicals really are.

What is her age?  Gosh if she is past a certain age maybe I'd opt for no hormones.  But then again I'm a stoic and just accept my flashes.

I use herbs infrequently and carefully, but milk thistle is supposed to help regenerate the liver somehow.  Even a dog in my extended family is on milk thistle for his damaged liver.  I'd go light with herbs though because they have toxins.

I've actually heard about a herb to help with covid shot side affects, but don't know much about it.   Personally I think I'd go for the milk thistle first.    And I'd avoid future vaxes and really most meds LOL and just go for some spa life like clear water, a little sunshine, rest, fresh air, happiness.
