I want to thank Grant and everyone who posts here for a great year of interesting Ideas, Concepts and Observations!
Health and happiness to you all.

lil chick, you are the light of the world and I am sure that I'm not alone in appreciating you for wasting your time here 😉
For me, this is an unpleasant time of year for many reasons, including lost loved ones, the superficiality of a holiday predicated on commerce turned to 11, and the main fact that the days are so darned short.
For vitamin a, I feel that I am in the doldrums. I have my routine of beef beans and rice. I've just cut oats 'cos they don't sit right, and no general progress is being made which I'm aware of. No ill health to speak of, just the doldrums, an ennui. Could just be the season..
I'll say that it's an unfortunate truth that vitamin a isn't the only thing. The whole food supply is poisoned in one way or another, and the air is tainted with the covert spraying programs. It's a situation where I feel firmly that voting is a sure sign of Stockholm syndrome.
I don't want to be a downer during the holidays. But maybe it's good, so others like me who aren't over their heels to leap into a new year know that they aren't alone.
I saw an excellent new film recently. Seen it twice now. This is my holiday pick for my fellow debbie downers. It's called "Sender" and it's from 2020. In all of my searches it appears that this film has gotten almost zero recognition and I think that that is a testament to its value: https://old.bitchute.com/video/4Yq6nz0y21c5/
I encourage everybody to dissipate as they feel fit. It's important, especially at this time of year, to blow off all the steam from another hard fought year which you survived. Just do it in a safe place 🙂

Quote from Jiří on December 24, 2025, 11:54 pm@joseph-6 I think Christmas is very stressful time for most people. Who has family there is always some drama, pressure to "create nice Christmas" for kids or to have even money for gifts etc. and those who are alone feel even more alone. I am not saying you can't have nice experience and I am sure for a lot of people it is the favorite time of the year, but I think for majority of people it is like I said and they are happy when it is over.. I am in that category as well..
My goal for 2026 is I will live by myself alone ideally in different country and I can make another Christmas as I want it which is having another normal day. Maybe watch some Christmas movie, but that's about it..

Quote from Joe2 on December 25, 2025, 1:20 amThank you all. Merry Christmas. Have a good year.
Try a walk preferably with a dog calmer than young border collies. Maybe tire them out with hide and seek or frisbee fetch first? Walk while everyone else is inside and the wildlife comes out to meet us. So calm and quiet, every year the coyotes and deer come right out in the open.

Quote from Griffin on December 25, 2025, 9:32 am@joseph-6 I agree that our food supply is far from ideal, but to play devils advocate it could be worse. The supplemental vitamin A in most animal feed is definitely concerning, but most animals are harvested fairly young so that additional vitamin A would mostly be stored in the liver. If someone has made it to this forum I would assume they are avoiding animal livers at this point. Personally I haven't noticed any difference in my health when eating store bought meat (beef, chicken, turkey) vs local grass finished beef. I know that's not the case for everyone, but if someone has very little income they could still eat a relatively healthy low vitamin A diet consisting of ground beef, turkey, chicken, rice, beans, fruit etc. for less than $20/day. That is no small feat considering rampant monetary inflation from our trusted overlords.
The widespread use of glyphosate on grains/legumes is obviously another concern that has implications with vitamin A metabolism. It would be great to move away from this practice, but that is not a switch than can be flipped overnight. The common pesticide used prior to glyphosate was lead arsenate. Farmers started using this in the late 1880s up until the 1950s. Some have speculated this to be the root cause of polio outbreaks in US.
I'll refrain from diving into anymore controversial topics on the holidays but I think its helpful to offer perspective when looking at complicated topics such as these. I certainly hope we can move towards better agricultural practices and maybe one day get the fortification programs shut down. Unfortunately I think the latter will be much harder to achieve.
Having a pessimistic attitude in todays world is understandable, but there is still a lot to be thankful for.
Merry Christmas all
