How many of you are first borns?

I've been wondering if first born children might suffer the most from this, since they are more likely to "inherit" a lot of the Vitamin A from the mother. My younger siblings didn't really have the same issues with Vitamin A containing foods, which makes me think they were more depleted, and thus able to tolerate more Vitamin A foods.

I am a first born, but my sister was sick often when she was young and still has albeit minor issues.

I think it all depends on the state of the mother during pregnancy and possibly breastfeeding.

I can attest though that I felt much better after giving birth be it loss of A or change in hormones.

I’m the oldest of two children and have had more health problems than my younger brother. Bella

I am a first born.  I have a sister about 1 year younger than me that has always been healthier than me.  I breastfed my kids but don't remember feeling better.   I think my mom was extremely anxious and stressed about having me - she was unmarried when I was conceived and married my dad shortly after, a man she didn't want to marry and divorced years later.    My brother was born 10 years after me - he has had many issues too.  3 years after him, another sister was born and she seems more well off than my brother.

Interesting idea! Yes, I am a first born. My youngest sibbling has no major health problems whatsoever, however my middle sibbling has struggled with illness, but to a lesser degree than I have.

My husband is a youngest, but has worse health than his older sibblings. However, he was born over ten years later than they were.

I'm not.

I am not first born. I have 2 older sisters and also brothers and I am the only one with endometriosis. I have lived the healthiest all of my adult life always staying away from fast food, cigaretts, alcolol and so forth, and going to bed on time so the healthiest both due to lifestyle, food and exercise and still I am the sickest of us. I am the only one of my siblings who does not smoke or drink alcohol. I dont even drink coffee 🙄

Occasional alcohol, coffee and tobacco all might actually help the liver.

I think it depends on cofactors, maybe subsequent pregnancies put the Mother at risk for zinc deficiency which is needed for retinol binding protein so maybe the next several children will be worse off if nutrition isn't good. In my kids I had two different diets, first I was getting into vegeterian and second I was doing weston a price. My first child has short stature but is otherwise healthy maybe a late bloomer as well. Second has tooth enamel problems but is tall. He also has behavior issues and wets the bed still a lot at 6.5 yrs. Hard to say, but I would not use cod liver oil to prevent tooth decay! A lot of WAPF people are having kids with very weak enamel.

I am not first born and my older brother doesn't seem to have any of the health problems that I have. My first born son has no health issues except dairy and gluten intolerance, but my second born son has many vitamin A symptoms.
