How to deal with cavities
Quote from windowcleaningtoronto on May 23, 2019, 10:35 pmAfter 10 years I got a new cavity. I need to get a filling. What things improve dental health? Is there any safe way to reminerslize teeth?

Quote from Rachel on May 25, 2019, 1:28 amThere's a company called ora wellness that does holistic dental products and has free info about remineralising teeth. I don't know how their ingredients fit in with low VA but it might be worth looking into.

Quote from SheilaE on May 25, 2019, 9:58 amA few months ago, I read that glycerin in toothpaste can be preventing remineralization. Of course it's been debunked but that doesn't mean much to me anymore. I decided to try brushing with soap to see if I noticed any changes in my gum/teeth health over time. (I found one online made with just olive oil called Sitti which doesn't taste like soap to me. It's a white bar that will probably last me for years. I just put a small chunk of it in a little plastic container ). Anyway, here's one link to brushing with soap: https://www.docgiff.com/article/soap-to-brush-your-teeth-are-you-kidding/
I realize I wrote in my intro that I noticed less calculus on my teeth. Hmmm, it might be due to the soap brushing. Don't know how I missed thinking of this. I see the dentist on Monday so will report back then.
I don't want to lead anyone astray though. Some people swear by fluoride in their toothpaste for tooth sensitivity. We have to find what works for us. For those not interested in using soap, the regular Crest cavity protection toothpaste is one that has no glycerin. Just about all toothpastes have glycerin I've noticed. Once again, glycerin may or may not be a problem. I'm just experimenting.
