ideal skin handling
Quote from lil chick on August 19, 2019, 11:22 amI wanted to talk about "skin brushing" and a little about scratching.
I am not some sort of purist skin brusher, and I'm sure that it might be nice to learn more about the subject, I know very little.
However, the idea is that if you stroke the skin in the direction of the liver, good things happen.
Why wouldn't that be good? We've got lymph and stuff trying to move around...
I think (in the past) I've seen spider veins and bruises lessened by this, perhaps those cherry angiomas as well.
I don't go to any trouble with it, I just use a hand towel to dry off from my daily shower (rather than a bath towel, the smaller size is handier)
And I dry off only in the direction of the liver, and very GENTLY.
IMO for this (VA) model you don't want to awaken VA to come to the rescue of any non-gentle handling!
On that same idea, when you have an itch... instead of scratching, why not just stroke the skin (gently) in the direction of the liver? I've noticed scratching actually HURTS and causes more ITCHING. Having an idea of something positive to do is helpful.
