Ideas to detoxify the eyes

@tobias @christian @aleksey

One of the longest lingering symptoms is blurry vision, and it can subside and come back after a long time on the low vA diet.

If it is so hard to detoxify the eyes, this is worth looking seriously into the matter.

Especially if being successful in that regard could also help the brain.

I know that tears and crying in general are supposed to be the nec plus ultra of sufi ecstasy, "riqat" is only given to the purest of heart.

At one point in my life I detoxed a lot of vA (not knowing what I was doing, this was 30 years ago), and I was crying my heart out for at least two hours a day for five years. I was quite worried that this would have a bad effect on my eyesight, which was not very good. But NO! In fact it seems it helped my eyes.

But at that time I did not know anything about vA and carotenoids and I retoxed everything.

Five years was the time needed for this crying. Seems a lot.

There is an ayurvedic procedure (Netra Basti or Netra Tarpan) of bathing the eyes in a medicated or plain ghee, and it is supposed to "clean" the eyes. I know of some people who have done it, they say it stings like hell but feels good afterwards. This would detox stuff that it not water soluble, but lipid soluble. The problem is this would add more vA to the eyes.

More ideas?

In 2020, I was dealing with a flare-up of a growth in the inner corner of my eyelid (diagnosed as hemangioma). It would get itchy, so I'd put cold-pressed sunflower oil on it. As I recall, the growth shrunk to nothing after a few months and stayed gone...until April 2023...when it started growing again and getting itchy. Since I've just recently started back on the cold-pressed omega 6 oils, I put them on my eye and face, too. The growth is pretty much gone already.

@ourania I don't know what it's called or even if it has a name, but I used to get burst of sharp pain in the eyes forcing out tears. It's been resolved on a low VA diet. While it's fairly obvious that there's retinol in tears, what I did not know is that there's calcidiol too. I happed upon a study while looking at the retinol-tear connection, and the researchers found that there's about twice as much vitamin-D in tears as there are in serum.

I'll be diving into that particular rabbit hole, so I'll leave this up for those who wish to do so too. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5009644/

@tobias I also suffered the same sharp pains in the back of the eyes and this was resolved with the low vA diet. I could not really cry very much either, especially from the right eye, but now  I can cry normally again.

I am sorry but tomorrow I shall leave and be away from any computer for about three weeks so do not feel I am not interested in what you can find!!! I am very interested!!!!!

On the topic of eyes, it has been very hot and sunny here for a few days and the area around my eyes has swelled up and gone very dry and itchy. I am guessing that the sunlight has activated detox around the eye area where there is a lot of retinoic acid (?). Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do? I just rinse out with water and don’t put any cream in it. Thank you! (It’s similar to the effect of when I eat soya).

Lately I've been buying distilled water to wash my face with, including my eye area.   I feel like my hard water isn't very soothing.
