In theory, can I eat onions, garlic, radishes, parsnips, sunflower seeds, ginger, - raw without any problems?

Question in the heading

Is it the rawness you are asking about?  Or the foods in general?

It appears that Dr. Garrett Smith has some concerns about this and that food or spice etc because they block detox or etc. but I'm not up on all that.

I suppose that cooking (such as boiling and throwing out the water) might get rid of some plant toxins.

Personally I'm trying to keep things simple (limiting VA but not going to extremes) and somewhat bland (because VA isn't the only veg toxins out there and my ancestral ways were pretty bland).

I eat small amounts of onions, garlic, radishes raw.   I boil parsnips.

Some people soak seeds and nuts (getting rid of phytates? phytates block mineral absorption?)  and to improve digestibility, but I don't eat sunflower seeds often enough to think about it.

@lil-chick

The question is aimed at consumption in the raw state.
