Insanely vivid dreams. Anyone else?

Hi everyone,

Since I started eliminating vitamin A from my diet, I've noticed that I have incredibly vivid dreams (pretty much every night).

I wonder why this is happening. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Me!!  So many dreams!  I am 3 months in and have had issues with insomnia for many years, to the point that I needed medication to sleep and be able to function the next day. After month 2, I was able to stop the medication. I still wake often during the night but each time I fall back asleep I have a new dream which I remember upon waking.  Very vivid as well!

That's great to hear @michele!

I haven't had insomnia as much as unrefreshing sleep. I'm curious if vitamin A somehow doesn't allow the body to fully relax, or maybe it prevents us from getting into the deeper phases of sleep.

Hubbie:    I think I was better off back when I didn't remember my dreams, lol

For me, it's that the dreams continue in multiple chapters and installments.  Wake, turn, go back to it.  And even later, when I'm off doing morning things, the dream hovers.  Perhaps I'm not fully waking now when I turn.

IMO... attic reorg

I don't have vivid dreams but I am now getting some awareness of dreaming whereas before I had no awareness of dreaming at all.

My first 5 days of vit A avoidance resulted in 4 very prolonged, weird and stressful dreams. 😛
So something is def. happening... (I generally have very poor dream recall)

I hate dreaming/remembering my dreams. From my experience, vivid, lengthy dreams have almost always happened during the times when my health was the worst. Kinda like fever dreams happen when you are sick, I would hate going to bed because I knew some weird ass dream sequence was coming.

Garrett and some believe that vivid dreams are a good sign and that may be true, but I think it may be due to the healing crisis rather than approaching peak health.

@armin I agree. I only ever remember my dreams when things are going poorly health-wise.

Looking back through my life, I started remembering my dreams practically every night since the age of around 8. There was a brief period in my middle teens where I didn't remember my dreams and sleep was how it was supposed to be. Restful and an escape from the grind of the day. I'm curious what happened around age 8. I remember vaccinations may have happened around that time. Other than that, just the average crap American diet of the 90s.

I have started to dream crazy much again after I started beans.... I like dreaming, I often have really nice dreams so it is fun and beautiful. If I have long periods not dreaming I miss it

A neurosurgeon I personally know have said that dreaming is a good sign. I hope so 😉
