Insomnia
Quote from Mokus on July 28, 2019, 6:15 pmYep that was my biggest issue and I have had great improvement. Initially I had some improvement and then I seemed to have cycles of getting better and worse. Since starting Zeolite around 5 months it has been much better. Also being aware of electrical activity near your bedroom is important. Nowadays i have maybe 1 wakups and go back to sleep easily and sometimes I sleep the whole night through. I am about 9 months low VA.
How is your sleep?

Quote from Gswitch on August 14, 2019, 1:02 pmStill very interrupted. Initially I would wake every night around 3am and not be able to get back to sleep. For the past week I have been waking at midnight and not be able to return to sleep until about 5am and then only 2 hours. TBH, I have had some slips with dairy as I’m undergoing a whole house renovation which is very stressful and I’m living in a tiny piece of the house. It’s hard to keep a low A diet in this circumstance. I’m doing fine limiting the beta carotene but find the dairy helps to calm me down. I don’t have it every day though. Insomnia and dry eye are my big issues that I’m hoping to improve so I will keep at it.

Quote from Gswitch on August 14, 2019, 1:05 pmForgot to mention that I had a whole house ‘dirty electricity’ filter installed 2 years ago and got rid of my smart meters as well without any improvement in my insomnia.

Quote from Mokus on August 14, 2019, 1:35 pmSounds like a stressful time. Going low VA has meant the longest stretch of time with minimal dairy for me. Have always found it a hard one to stop. Nowadays I still have some butter and occasionally a bit of cream or in chocolate. Rarely some blue cheese. I think it will help in general with the low VA way of eating and detoxing. Sus out a quality Zeolite. MY VA was quite high on my blood test back in april so there is a bit of work ahead for the liver and any help to detox glyphosate etc will be helpful for my rest and other symptoms.

John, do you know if ginko has vitamin A? It is made of leaves. It is in a stem cell supplement that I'd like to try, but I don't want to mess up my detox now that I am so much better. The supplement is Stem Cell Worx for the brain. I also contains resveratrol (from knotweed) and fucoidan (a brown seaweed).

Quote from hillcountry on August 17, 2019, 4:46 pmJudy - thanks for asking about that. It got me to go out looking and I ended my search regarding vitamin A content, after reading this article that has a number of serious concerns and cautions about taking Ginkgo Biloba. Sounds potentially as bad as Glyphosate.

Quote from puddleduck on August 18, 2019, 6:16 am@gswitch My chronic insomnia (had it for several years and I tried almost everything) only went away after I started eating enough calories. On low VA (it’s been almost 8 months now) I will still get insomnia if I don’t have enough access to vitamin-a free foods during the day and under-eat for the reason. If you’re in a stiuation where it’s hard to cook (not sure with your renovations going on), you might be inadvertently eating too little, and if you’re VA-toxic and have had insomnia for a while, it’s possible your appetite has been somewhat suppressed as well (I’m not an expert, though). This is just anecdotal, but my anorexia was the worst during a period where my primary calorie source was sweet potatoes.

*ETA: In case I didn’t explain myself clearly: loss of appetite is one of the symptoms of Hypervitaminosis A, and insomnia is a common symptom of under-eating! 😋
ETA #2: I have removed the links to the Eating Disorder Institute, because it has recently come to my attention that the site owner, Gwyneth Owlyn, was dishonest about both her qualifications and the scientific validity of many of her recommendations.
