Jaw surgery
Quote from Audrey on November 8, 2019, 10:56 amOn Wednesday I am having jaw surgery and I won't be able to eat solid food/chew for 6 weeks... I could really use some tips on how to get enough protein in my diet, as I will be eating mainly liquids. I have been very low A 6 months now, and I'd appreciate any suggestions. Also, because I have never had surgery before, I am wondering if it would be a bad idea to take some activated charcoal the night before, or is this not a good idea... I am very sensitive and also not feeling at my best with all this vitamin A toxicity stuff (dizzy/imbalanced/woozy) and who knows what else at this point (possible vitamin deficiencies) but I can't put off this surgery any longer. Thanks in advance, Audrey

A food processor and blender might help in your food prep. My mom (90) recentally had mouth surgery; she was determined to eat the meats that were on the regular menu at the retirement center where she lives. She took her meals (by way of her trusty walker) to her apartment and blended them into a liquid state. She said they were delicious. Her recovery was remarkably speedy!!

Quote from thomas on November 8, 2019, 9:38 pmGood luck with the surgery!
and honestly this probably wont be the most flavorful for sure, but i personally would blend the food you need to eat LOL. Sounds disgusting but i'd do anything to stay low A (for as long as I can handle it). even brought my zero A meal prep (organic rice, beans, beef) on a 1 week trip to mexico a few months back.

Thank you ! I do too. I'll leave the charcoal for after the surgery.
