jaw

I'm intrigued by what Grant once said about jaw correction on low VA.  I'm betting that this man's ideas, mixed with lower VA, might lead to some really good facial changes in the long run.  In the comments it says:  "If you aren't Mewing, what are you doing?"  🙂  Someone ought to someday talk to Dr Mew about lowered VA.

I'm betting that high VA causes histamine problems that lead to mouth breathing, leading to poor growth in the jaw.  According to Dr. Mew, adult faces are still changeable.

i found out about mewing in early 2018!! haha small world

I've had that tongue posture all my life though, so it hasn't made much of a difference

Hi @lil-chick,

Thanks for sharing that. It's quite fascinating.

In addition to the few folks that have told me that Accutane had twisted their bones, here's an early study mentioning the altered bone development effect in young pigs due to vA overdose.

Anderson, Marlin Dean, "The effect of hypervitaminosis A and other dietary factors on the
young pig  (1964). Retrospective Theses and Dissertations. 3834.

I wonder if this might not explain why so many young kids have crooked teeth and smiles these days?

You know, I learned about orthotropics long ago, and I knew that 1.  the mouth should be shut and 2. the tongue should be flat.  However, after watching some of these videos I realize that my posture is not good (I have asymmetrical habits and have a hard time keeping my chin down), my tongue position was  pushing on my teeth, and my swallowing was infantile, LOL.    I  spent my entire childhood with allergies and mouth breathing, my teeth are crowded, so I'm sure I have work to do.   I also wonder what having shrunken, chapped lips does for all this and I think I need, for a while, to keep something on my lips so that they aren't pulling the teeth inwards.

One of the more interesting snippets to me is (not a quote, but IIRC)  In the war between bones and muscle, muscle always wins!

That can be to the good, or to the bad!

Neuro cranial restructuring can potentially be helpful in cranial issues, they use a thick balloon and inflate it inside your sinus cavity against the sphenoid.

Holistic orthodontists would probably be pretty interested in the VA connection.

yikes a balloon eh?

Note to others:  do not decide to change mouth habits on a night before work.

Yeah the idea is that cranial asymmetry leads to a flow on effect through the body i.e. if your head is tilted to the left then the left shoulder will often be higher. They do proprioception tests by pushing you in different places when you are standing to test your balance and then target specific areas of the sphenoid with the ballon. External manipulation techniques on the skull done by osteopaths are generally ineffective.

When it is done it is normal to hear a crunch, it isn't painful though. I wonder if that crunch is partly due to calcification? Maybe a long term low VA diet along with plenty of K2 etc could have a similar effect?
