Keeping it simple

Next month I will be going to a baseball game, as well as attending a family dinner. I have easily and politely turned down food at weekly gatherings with my poker buddies, and there are no problems to speak of. We are men, after all. This time, however, I will be with my sisters, who, like many women, absolutely know what is best (even when they do not). While I am not under their custody - as their husbands and children are - I still foresee that my polite refusal will not be taken lightly or go unchallenged. Feminine wiles have long arms here in the chronically sick west. I saw it personally with the involuntary commitment of my own mother, and I see it to the point of maddening in the endless self-attestations of women poisoning their own children - for their health - in a kind of 50 shades of Munchausen's by proxy.

I am not asking for or expecting support on this forum, as it is. I personally hope that Grant spares himself the expense and reverts it to a read-only database, as it is populated by mentally deranged serial dieters and their natural predators, which I refer to as "Nutri-douches" although I think that phrase is far too polite, spreading terrible advice and selling as many supplements as possible.

What I am wondering aloud, is how is it that in a country like mine, where almost everybody is severely screwed up: physically, mentally and spiritually, from the effects of being chronically poisoned their whole lives long, even pre-term, and further, doomed to work lives of frantic, inflammation-fueled pursuit of rapidly devaluing dollars which will be duly extracted from them when their health deteriorates on a predetermined timeline, in the most painful and protracted and expensive way possible, while all the time being gaslit that is somehow the fault of their genetics, it is somehow my societal duty to be conciliatory toward the unknowing (for the most part?) agents of humanities collective self-immolation?

Am I the only one who read these books? Is this just a fad to all of you? Fitting in is a feminine ideal, but men are intended by God to upset the apple truck, set it on fire and piss on it. This is primarily why we are killed off in endless wars, in brutal occupations, and vilified at every turn. If a man does not have the courage of his convictions, then then he is no man. Bill Gates is busily awarding his funds to scientists dreaming up new ways to stuff more vitA into the guts of humanity, pediatricians are blithely offering the rainbow to expecting mothers, our new health secretary is fighting for our health by encouraging vitA to fight measles, and beta-carotene to replace petroleum food coloring, and what I see on here, even going back to the beginning of this forum, is for the most part duplicity, mental masturbation, ego-stroking and a blase attitude toward genocide.

Joseph's post is among the best comments I have ever read on any forum on these topics.

Wish there was a way I could give 10 "likes".

Tell your sisters that you ate out recently and are recovering from some kind of food poisoning so some foods are unappealing or not sitting well in your stomach.  Maybe then you can avoid anything you don't want to eat.

Very few people understand or know that vitamin A and beta carotene should be avoided.  It is difficult to know if it is added to intentionally harm us in all cases because some people are ignorant even if they are in positions of power.

@joseph-6

If women are so bad, how do you explain thoroughly-female me, who started a thread about RFK and his vitamin-A crusade? https://ggenereux.blog/discussion/topic/rfk-vitamin-a-for-measles/

When I was up against my entire family for being anti-vax, some of the strongest vax proponents were men.   Of course, I still love all the men in my family, even if they don't understand what they were asking of me.

No one gets everything entirely 100% right, including myself.

And everyone is apt to believe the con artists, they are good at what they do

Don't hate your loved ones, hate the con artists.

The original post here comes very close to breaking the rules, but This Bot will allow it to stay as long as it remains on the topic of Vitamin-A toxicity and health;  and veers away from the topic of denegrating this site.

Is it logical for you to post at all if you don't like a particular discussion group and wish it would stop being a discussion group?

@joseph-6 Have you considered that you might have anger as a symptom?

This post is convoluted. It ends with an attack on the people who frequent this forum. Maybe that's not the wisest tactic in a conversation.

If you're asking for ideas on how to handle a social gathering, be upfront. For example, you could say that you're conducting an experiment in which you're trying to avoid all sources of vitamin A to prove that vitamin A is actually a toxin. This approach gives you a sense of purpose, and the word "experiment" might pique people's interest.

There might be some teasing for doing something they think is strange. Just don't get defensive and agree with them. Say something like: "Here I am, the weirdo of the family. Soon, I'll have antennas growing out of my forehead." Beep beep. If you can say this in a playful way, the matter will be dropped.

ETA: The point is to not be reactive when your quirks are called out. Being stoic under social pressure is manly.

It should be obvious that preaching about the dangers of vitamin A is counterproductive. The only way to convince people of something is to make a case for it yourself. For example, Grant has showcased his improvements with his annual health update. I wish I had health improvements as stellar as his. But that's a different story.

Excellent advice.  It works.  Older sisters who raised us can be that way.
