Quote from Inger on February 11, 2023, 2:34 am@jiri have you thought about donating blood? You could try it out if you have not already. Kinda looks like you have some iron overload too.
That would help you get rid of some vitamin A too. Most males as they age they get too much iron, and would benefit from blood donations. It is fun too. I go as often as I am allowed.

Quote from Jiří on February 11, 2023, 2:46 am@inger heh I don't know what is fun about that. I should be blood donor. I just hate hospitals and all that process before.. When I was following Morley Robbins aka anti iron and pro copper guy I was doing it myself. 🙂
Quote from Inger on February 11, 2023, 3:42 amOMG @jiri I would not trust myself do that! Huhhh.. 😮 Yo dont need to go to a hospital at all, here at least not, we have red cross donations in many cities, they come to the library, or school etc and you go there and donate, and you get some food and drink for free after, or you can go to a red cross point anytime during work days, they have nice fancy leather chairs and very comfy and very nice nurses and it is not all like hospital. They are very kind and it is always fun 🙂 🙂 I live in Finland BTW. Where do you live?

Quote from Jiří on February 11, 2023, 3:54 am@inger Czech Republic.. Here I have to go to hospital to donate blood. It's not a big deal. I can walk there 5 minutes, but they will take your blood first to see basic blood work. After that they will ask you 1000 question, you have to fill a lot of papers etc.. I did it like this guy basically. first attempt I failed after like 10ml of blood. I think because the blood was so thick that it clogged that needle.. Second attempt It was like 200ml after that 350ml and last is 500ml that I posted picture. Ferritin dropped to 30 and I think I felt somewhat better, but because I was very vit A toxic still eating liver etc.. overall I felt still really bad.. I think I will try it again once or twice if it helps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI9Q1HjIdPk

Quote from Inger on February 11, 2023, 4:27 am@jiri you are very brave! I cant even watch that video because i dont like to watch needles going through skin.. I always look away when they do that at the blood donation..I dont mind seeing the blood and needle after, but just that moment it feels kinda... off. When it penetrates the skin...grr 🙂
I did quite the same as you, I started blood donations as I was still eating lots of liver and vitamin A! And also for me it did help some but still I got issues. What a mess we have put ourselves ion thinking we were doing such wonderful things..lol Its pretty funny actually, if it were not so sad because it kinda destroyed our bodies to a degree. But I am sure we can repair it. It will just take some time 🙂 🙂
I know someone else from Czech too. There were pretty horrid covid restrictions afaik. Even worse than Germany where I lived then.
I am flying to Germany in a couple weeks, one stop in Riga. First time since covid restrictions that I enter an airplane.. I only moved by ferries because I was not allowed to fly having no vaccinations. But now it is so weird I can fly again... Sorry, a little off topic 😉

TIBC appears to serve as an indirect measure of Transferrin - having your Transferrin measured directly (which you also did) is more accurate. Looks like your Transferrin (ability to move iron around) is on the low end, but your saturation levels appear normal and your Ferritin levels seem normal. Maybe your Transferrin is on the low end because your liver is not so happy and it's struggling to produce enough?

Quote from Jiří on February 11, 2023, 1:09 pm@wavygravygadzooks maybe and maybe it's because I have liver full of copper. But without biopsy I can do 100 blood/hair tests and I will never know for sure.. For now I will stop taking zinc supplements and lower my red meat intake. So I don't have low serum copper in the blood all the time and I should lower that ferritin under 100 as well.. 2 x 500ml blood loss will do it..

I just heard Anthony Chaffee say that Vitamin A affects TSH and then found the following study to verify. Administration of retinyl palmitate in rats led to a monumental increase in TSH and decreases in T3 and T4. It also led to elevated blood glucose and insulin levels. I strongly suspect this is the explanation behind my own TSH and blood glucose levels over the past several years...maybe it is relevant to your TSH levels as well?

Quote from Jiří on February 19, 2023, 1:32 am@wavygravygadzooks hm it's true that I was taking vit A supplements and also liver pills from Universal nutrition. It was very popular in fitness industry around 2000.. I had no idea about anything. I was just taking vitamins because everyone is taking it.. At least during that time I was eating low vit A diet basically rice, oats, meats, whey protein etc.. No stupid things like full fat dairy, liver, cod liver oil etc.. But I was eating "paštika" as a kid. It's basically pork liver mixed with other left overs from the animal heh..
