Laura Delano - pharmed out

Camus
@newstart_2024
Laura Delano spent 14 years in the psychiatric system, diagnosed with “bipolar,” swallowed 19 different psych drugs, and was told she’d be broken for life without them.

She just went viral again with one sentence that’s making doctors furious and patients feel seen for the first time:

“Antidepressants aren’t that different from cocaine or alcohol — except they’re legal, prescribed, and marketed as ‘medicine’ for a brain disease that has never been proven to exist.”

Her exact words (watch the full 1:51 clip below):

“We’re told crippling depression means you have a chemical imbalance and the pill fixes it. That’s an illusion. These are psychoactive drugs — tranquilizers — that suppress emotions and slow you down.

The word ‘antidepressant’ is marketing spin.
Call them what they are: serotonergic drugs that interfere with your brain chemistry.
They can feel helpful short-term… but they’re not treating an illness.”

She repeats three times:
“I’m not anti-these-drugs. I’m against lying to people so they can’t make informed choices.”

This is the same woman who cold-turkeyed six drugs at once, almost died, then fully recovered and now helps thousands do the same.

If you or someone you love has ever been handed a script with a smile and told “this will balance your brain chemicals”… watch this 1:51 and tell me your jaw doesn’t hit the floor.

No hate toward anyone still on meds — many say they’re lifesaving.
This is about truth in labeling.

Drop your story below. No judgment, just real talk.

How many years were you on? Did any doctor ever explain it like THIS?

The SSRI lie never stops to spin, it seems, despite hard evidence by studies that show how useless and dangerous they are. Delano is making a stretch comparing them to drugs like alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine. All three of these different substances have a very specific chemical profile. All three are unique in themselves, and also completely different in how they affect the brain compared to a SSRI. BUT, she should be anti antidepressants. They are poison. And in no circumstances to be recommended.

Tianeptine and Cyproheptadine are useful, short-term interventions. Phenibut is useful for sleep, but sadly, quickly a tolerance is built. Best bet is to change diet and environment. Leave the city, stay in the countryside. Get lots of fresh air. City life is only for the most ambitious and sturdy people among us. Being part of a community would be very beneficial, but you're not going to easily find that. It's very important to address the body first, before any cognitive therapy is attempted.

I use doxylamine sometimes when I need to sleep but I know I won't get good sleep. What do you think of it? I used to use cypro but that is just so heavy hitting. I find doxylamine can reset me pretty good.

First time hearing of this drug. It probably has similar properties to Cyproheptadine. You probably know more about it than I do.

I like Phenibut, but even one dose is enough to make me feel off the second day. I use it sparingly.

Is this to say SSRI's are not poison?  Or lesser poisons than the others?
