lil chick's log

Hi @lil-chick ! and thank you for the exercise. I do not have this problem but I know someone who has.

It is good to hear of your progress.

I too am surprised that there are not more people contributing here. It cannot be because the results of the diet are not spectacular enough, because for me going low A has resolved problems that I had found no solution to. This in itself is quite important, throwing light on a hidden corner of nutrition. Also I realized how I had MYSELF poisoned my body and how.

I suppose a lot of people come here, read, take away the message and implement it in their day to day life. It is not difficult to avoid Vitamin A, Lists of food abound. The results speak for themselves.

I think the only people who contribute are the generous souls that offer their experience to comfort others on the way, as well as those eventual trolls who wish to divert all this energy towards themselves or to divert it away from Grant.

I have been more than 5 months on the diet, and I am only starting to understand how I might make this detox faster. In the same way that some things make Vitamin A poisoning faster, there must be actions/practices that speed the detox.

There is another point to this forum and this is why I joined and stay here : collectively we are providing evidence, and by interaction with others might find a way to speed the process. When you realize the amount of damage and suffering past AND TO COME, all these tortured children, decaying minds etc, even if we are very selfish  we will have to find a solution, and very fast, because the exponential growth of the problem is making the world more difficult to live in. So many dumb and sick people around cannot make for a happy place to live in.

I might start again doing Liver flushes to see if it helps.

I cannot give blood, and I wonder if donating blood is really helping? If the poison is not so concentrated in blood?

Do we know anything about the concentration in lymph? There is a way to renew lymph, less invasive and it could help.

Re the bar being set too high I meant in regards to how much VA they think is necessary to cause Hypervitaminosis A as well as serum retinol value ranges, I agree the frequency of Hypervitaminosis A in the population is part of that issue.

@tim-2 ah got you. Yes it’s all those things. The serum retinol ranges are a joke. So varied. Biolab in UK does admit that they are getting a lot of people with high serum retinol but Medicheck in UK just seem to have shifted up the range!!

@jaj

Serum ferritin ranges are a joke too. High VA and high iron are two really important causes of disease... but the treatments for either of them do not involve drugs so no profit. Perhaps that's why it's easier to just say "no problem here!".

thank you Tim, JAJ, Ourania, for your kind and considered comments!  I've been very busy (so not much time to reply) but I've been thinking about them.

I took the left photo early into lowered VA and the right photo at one year lowered VA.  (not zero VA)

(could have sworn I posted this photo, but maybe I didn't)  Just for the record, I do not think my eyes have changed color, they change with different lighting conditions.

I promised I would talk here about why I still believe (after a year) that VA can overload, and can cause many diseases, and that it can be healthful to limit its intake.

It may take me a few passes at this post to get all my thoughts together.  I've tried to arrange it according to bullets.  I've decided not to go into much detail since I've spoken at length about many of these things in my log and my threads.

Reasons

My History.  Perhaps it is easier for me to see that VA is my problem because  I was purposefully POUNDING DOWN TONS OF VA and CAROTENES for 15 YEARS  --thinking it was smart--  to the extent that people thought my diet was strange.   What's more, I believe I was VA-toxic even before I began that high-VA diet.    I can see how if someone wasn't on an especially high-VA diet they might have a harder time believing that the VA aspect of their diet was the culprit.

Nothing is Infinite.   You can't easily pee out fat-soluble vities.   What makes ANYONE think that our ability to deal with VA is infinite?  It's just dumb.

Those Invisible Toxins Holistic Practitioners Discuss.     I've had "intuitve" healers tell me how toxic I was.  One even compared me to a sewer of toxicity.  (that was a tough one!)   I live the cleanest lifestyle of anyone I know.    In holism all you hear about is toxins, toxins, toxins.  VA is ubiquitous.  Part of holistic life is dealing with VA!  Makes so much sense.

Early Detox.  I was blessed with an early detox symptom that was so bizarre  and undeniable that that one symptom alone will keep me believing forever that VA detox is real.  Across my rosacea, I had Formication.  Formication is the feeling that INSECTS ARE WALJKING ACROSS YOUR SKIN.    (so much fun!)

Results.   Generally, I just feel that I'm less inflammatory.   Problems last less long.  For instance, yesterday a bug flew into my eye and injured it.  In the past, I'm betting I would have ended up at the doctors, it felt horrible last night.  But much better today.

I freely admit that I'm not fixed.  I don't think it's realistic to expect to be 100% fixed by any diet.  I'm sure that I've done some real damage.  I think I do have the benefit that my lifestyle and diet was pretty clean and strong before (except for the VA mistake).

I think my results with debilitating headaches (none this year) and food attacks (only one)  are my most encouraging stories.  My skin results are there but very slow.  I can feel the change more than see it, when it comes to the skin.

The Challenge.  Sometimes a thought comes into my head that going lowered-VA has been one of the hardest things I've ever done.   That in itself makes me believe in it, for some damn reason.    It feels like work.  It is work.   And yet I'm not here pining away for VA foods.  The opposite.  The work is going on inside me.

Stories.   Grant and other poster's stories factor into my beliefs--to my husband's chagrin.  Yes, this leaves me open to harm from role players, idiots, sh*t stirrers, propagandists and other internet baddies.  But the truth is, they do factor into my beliefs, darn it.

Cats and Chickens and Farming:   I've also lowered the VA intake of the animals I keep and their (slow) progress shows me things that keep me believing.  Kidney disease is rampant among older cats.  Egg yolks are more orange than in the past.   Changes in agriculture like "walking corn" and Round up.  The difference between a young chicken liver (purple) and an old one (yellow).

Family History:  I look now at the health histories of my loved ones with VA glasses on and find reasons to believe  there.   The lifestyles of those with autoimmunity.  The lifestyles of the centenarians.

Thanks for your post lil chick, you're a really nice chick. I personally don't follow a zero vitamin A diet. My only source of vitamin A is from broccoli and I refuse to believe that natural carotene from real whole foods is harmful in reasonable amounts. I think it's a little like iron, you need some iron but if you overdose iron, especially heme iron, then it's extremely toxic.

BTW, are you supplementing taurine? I put my faith in low vitamin A diet, taurine supplement and loads of soluble fiber from beans. Taurine makes me feel really sick, but I trust that it's because it cleans my liver from all the accumulated toxins, I truly hope that is the case.

This is a great quote, but my fingers are crossed, I hope I can at least hit 99% healed 🙂

The improvement with your hair is awesome. Hoping I will experience something similar. My hair has a history of being quite frizzy, especially at the bang area. I think my hair might be growing in differently, but right now I think it’s too soon to tell for sure for me. I do think my hair has grown faster though!
