Yeah raw food in more than small amounts has an overall energy that is not best for people trying to heal, our gut has evolved to rely on mostly cooked foods. Raw food in small amounts is good but too much is "dampening" and "cooling" for the digestive "fire". So it has more of an indirect effect on the liver I think. Even in western countries it's a major source of food poisoning as well.

Quote from lil chick on July 2, 2020, 7:32 amA thought came into my mind regarding my anger.
I've noticed that when I'm "nursing someone back to health" or checking on a sick loved one repeatedly after a long illness...
Just before they come out the other end of the tunnel, there is often a cranky "I'M SICK OF BEING SICK!" phase.
Resentment directed toward the mysterious fates. Anger with the world.
Maybe it is a decision: "THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE".
Maybe on some other plain we are telling the grim reaper to F*** OFF!
I can imagine that marathon runners might experience a sort of anger as they hit that hardest part of heartbreak hill. And they use the anger to push through that hardest part.
Maybe it's a thing.

Another thought: I'm very conservative when it comes to supplement use but as I've pointed out before small amounts of taurine every few days helps with retinoid excretion, via both bile and urine. This is why I drink a couple of red bulls a week, it boosts my taurine intake. Tiny amounts of both taurine and Vit D are the only supplemental nutrients that I consume. Once my serum retinol is lower I will drop the taurine but while it remains high I think it's helpful.

Quote from Jenny on July 3, 2020, 2:46 amInteresting about your use of taurine Tim. I didn’t know it helped for urine excretion too. I have a diagram that shows it is useful for bile excretion. I’ve become very wary of supplements too but I may add a little in. I’ve been in the sun a lot recently & feel I have too much vA buzzing around my body so looking for ways to increase its exit.

Quote from lil chick on July 3, 2020, 7:25 amThank you, @tim-2! I bet my kids will freak when health-food me starts drinking Red Bull. It'd be worth it just for that.

Quote from lil chick on July 9, 2020, 8:35 amI'm happy with how my forehead (five head?) looks today (14 months). This is the lupus butterfly zone. It was quite red when I began lowering VA. I think the cheeks are also a bit lighter red. L- last year. R- today.
Blue eyes and fairness run in my father's side. Once, when I was about 12, I was invited to go out on a little boat fishing with my great uncle (who I didn't know very well, he lived a bit far). He was known for spending every possible moment on his little boat in the sea. As a child, he seemed quite old to me, although perhaps he was around 60. I remembered thinking how he must get so very much sun (and I'd already recognized that I had no affinity for the sun). When he came and greeted me on the dock, I was struck by the amazing clear-blueness of his eyes. Memorably clear.
The whites of my eyes are still not clear, they are yellowed in the area that sees sun (behind the lids they are whiter). Perhaps similar to the way there is some yellow-tan areas on my cheekbones. I wonder about this eye-yellowness, and I bet this might be an easily-seen indication of VA toxicity. An intuitive person once told me he thought they whites of my eyes showed liver toxicity. He told me to drop alcohol. (which I have (again LOL)) recently.

Uploaded files:Quote from Rachel on July 9, 2020, 8:55 amThat's quite a noticable difference with your forehead!
I've found when I try to take photo's to show an improvement that is apparent to me with the naked eye, the photo doesn't show it as well so I'm thinking for it to show well in the photo there is likely a substantial improvement. (Or maybe I'm just rubbish at taking consistent photos 🙂 )
Anyway, must be encouraging for you. Great progress.

Quote from lil chick on July 9, 2020, 9:50 am@rachel, You are right, it is super hard to capture skin changes! Comparing month-to-month the changes are almost un-noticable. The variability of light is frustrating as well. The above photos are night and day.
Some of the skin changes can be felt more than seen. There has been a swelling under the skin in the butterfly zone. It is less, and I can feel that. But it isn't 100% gone. The flakyness is also much better.

And this after 14 months. I also feel the same in areas of my skin which are problematic. Getting better after 7 months but way to go for the 100%. You give me hope!
We also dropped alcohol last week! No withdrawal symptoms at all but the detox is more painful. More painful or more efficient, I don't know.
Well done!

My first impression when viewing the two photos was that the latter looks quite younger!!! The eyes look healthier as well as the skin.
The skin on my forearms continues to improve in feeling even though its outward appearance is changing ever so slowly.
Very encouraging! Thank
