Matt Stone's ongoing asthma vs night blindness
Quote from Jiří on December 23, 2025, 11:58 am@joe2 I think he was trying lowering vit A due to asthma for at least two years and after that did 1 year of extremely low vit A. I agree with Dr.Smith on this that his issues could be from all those refined carbs and apple juice etc.. All that sugar on top of decent amount of exercise it depletes water soluble vitamins and minerals like crazy..
But I don't think that his issues are from high vit A. Those would show up much sooner on extremely low vit A diet. As soon as you stop consuming it and the body starts dumping it from the liver to the blood..
Not to mention nigh blindness is not symptom of high vit A if I am correct..

Quote from Tanveen on December 23, 2025, 3:45 pmYes, the animals. I guess you could have symptoms of high vitamin A for many years (as many of us do) even while being on a low vitamin A diet for years. Also, as it’s hard to test where in the body the vitamin A is concentrated without doing invasive tests (liver, blood test, skin, hair etc), it may be stored / distributed slightly differently in everyone which is why they have e.g. characterised similar autoimmune issues as different diseases which are actually all the same or different forms of poisoning. Just thinking out loud.

Hard to believe much of what Matt says. He claimed low vA for 7 years. Said his last year was really low vA. My night vision has improved these last 3 years. Drove for a living for decades. I used to be able to stare into headlights all night. My liver eating years, headlights were painful and blurry. This winter noticed I can stare into headlights again. Snowplowing all night in snowstorms with strobes and spotlights all over, were fine for me. No more blurs. No more pain. Eyes come back into focus once blinding lights pass. I am 36 months into low vitamin A. I might be a bit closer to Grant's diet than Matt ever was.

I can't help but wonder if retinol in the eyes takes a beating and needs to be replaced. Vitamin A in nature is supposed to help protect plants from light. What if we need fresh VA just for the eyes... As a hiker, he could be beating on his eye retinoids. I mean why would a high retinol meal help so much so fast?

Quote from Jiří on December 24, 2025, 11:20 am@lil-chick I think you are right. I simply don't believe that vit A is just toxin that has no use in human body. I think it is essential for us, but in much smaller amounts and gets easily dysregulated in our body especially in our modern unnatural world full of artificial stuff that is negatively impacting our body and his ability to metabolize it properly..
Btw I just had Czech typical christmas dinner potato salad(potatoes, carrots, green peas, eggs, mayo, pickles..) with carp and carp soup. Loads of retinol and beta carotene. I am expecting to see like a cat in a dark. :))
Basically had carrot today for the first time in 8 years lol. But it was small amount overall like 30g maybe heh..

Ten-Year Update – Ideas, Concepts, and Observations
The Eye Exam
A few weeks back I had another eye exam done. This is really important because we’ve all been told that so-called vitamin A is essential for eye health and vision. So, now after 10 years of being on the most extreme vitamin A deficient diet humanly possible I surely should have gone blind by now, or at least have developed severe xerophthalmia. Of course, all my skin should have completely disintegrated as well due to lack of proper stem cell differentiation. But, nope, none of that has happened. Rather it’s just the opposite. As the eye doc was completing the exam, the discussion surprisingly went like this:
Eye Doc: You have no signs of any glaucoma, no macular degeneration, no cataracts, and the retinas are in perfect condition.
Me: Ok, good to hear.
Eye Doc: Do you have your phone with you?
Me: Yes, I do, why?
Eye Doc: You should take a picture of what I have on my screen. This display is showing that you have perfect eye health. That’s indicated by everything in the solid green. This is what I usually see in twenty-year olds.
Just to be clear, he didn’t say: “you have good eye health”, rather he said: “you have perfect eye health.”
Except, although I may have perfect eye health, I don’t have perfect vision. He did say that I could benefit from having driving glasses to improve my long-distance vision (out past 80 metres). The driving glasses are not required but suggested. However, I’ll attribute that condition to having worked on a computer 8 hours a day for the last 30 years. So, my eyes are naturally conditioned to this shorter focal length. Anyways, I’m not going to get the driving glasses at this time. I don’t need reading glasses, as my close-up and near range vision is excellent.
Regardless, now at age 64 and not needing to regularly wear glasses still puts me into the top 10% of people my age. Something like 92% of my cohort needs glasses, and I don’t. Hmm, go figure? BTW, my low light (night vision) is excellent too.
This exam experience sounded familiar, and there seems to be a pattern developing. About 5 years ago when I last had my cholesterol checked, my GP said: “You have the blood pressure and cholesterol levels of a 15 year old.” A bit surprisingly, he showed no curiosity as to why that might be.
Anyways, what the heck do you make of that “perfect eye health” result after 10 years of being in a state of “severe vitamin A deficiency”? Well, I’ll tell you what I make of it; the claim that so-called vitamin A is essential for eye health, vision, etc. is a complete f’n scam. And a scam of colossal magnitude and scope.

Quote from Jiří on December 25, 2025, 3:16 am@joe2 he has successful business. He really doesn't need to lie about his health stuff on his youtube channel which has almost no views. Only people who are following him for many years watch his stuff. So I really don't understand what is your point here. Having said that. What he is saying doesn't mean is correct. But that doesn't mean he is lying. I respect Matt a lot. I mean he got fat, bald and grey and still had the balls to show himself on a video. I think he experienced decent ego death because of that. He is not the guy with the most knowledge, but at least in my eyes he is not fake.

If you listen to the video you will hear him admit he has been a fake and apologize. If you read his book you will realize his ineptitude is well mixed with his deceit and spiced liberally with lovely sounding tolerant truisms and truthy sounding lies. Similar to having dinner with family members who still believe Bill Gates and friends are coming as fast as they can in their mega yachts and giant private jets to save us. And they are bringing all their blue haired castrated friends who will call us whatever "ism" they can convince us that we are guilty of. And they will tell us that drinking a half gallon of toxic high fructose corn syrup flavored water and 10 oreo cookies and a crappy cheap restaurant meal or two every day is well just what we need if we want to feel good. And that marginally survivable health will be an indicator of honesty, integrity and insight that will help everyone around us to much better health.
If this sounds inappropriately harsh please know that I already have older siblings playing these gaslit reindeer games. As they deteriorate, their excuses get thicker and more obvious. It is a bitter and not sweet reward when their kids see through the tripe and hold me up as an increasingly obvious contrast to their health.
Be sure I have sympathy for the devil here. These siblings and their kids are given links to this blog and others routinely. Every once in a while one stuns me with a question or comment that shows they are looking. But yeah, I endure far more dismissal. And they layer it with Matt's same sophistry. All while I know I will be hospicing more of them than we already have.
BTW, I would be careful to trust his version of anything based on his wealth and disinterest in grifting. Noteworthy that all his explanations on how he got that wealth are as opaque as his insights into health. Besides by that logic we should trust Gates and all his friends since they already have all the wealth they need.
