Metabolic Interactions between Vitamin A and Conjugated Linoleic Acid
Quote from eliza1275 on May 31, 2019, 7:39 amI found this article while looking up Palmitoyelthanolamide (PEA), a substance I take occasionally for itching and pain at night. Interesting information about the relationship between retinol and CLA as well.

Quote from eliza1275 on May 31, 2019, 1:03 pm@ronnie, I have no idea. I'm just posting the study. What I'm personally taking from this is that I am not going too heavy on meat - only eat 6-8 oz a day, in addition to bread, rice, potatoes, low vitamin a snacks, etc. I used to eat mostly meat, and had terrible reactions.

Quote from jobo on May 31, 2019, 8:11 pmAppears that there are quite a few benefits to Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), wondering if this could be helpful during the detox ?

From the link above:
More than 500 clinical studies show that Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is effective in reducing chronic pain, neuropathic pain and chronic inflammation.
I wonder if any of these studies were indirectly looking at retinol and inflammation...
Will look into this more...

Quote from eliza1275 on June 1, 2019, 6:05 am@jobo - I'm looking into to it as well. I'm still trying to understand more about peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) and their relation to retinol metabolism. Just came across this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18068127
As I mentioned, I only take PEA as needed, but it works for me (eliminates itching, pain, and insomnia, and even decreases headaches related to occasional high histamine and/or high vitamin A intake), and I haven't yet noticed any side effects.
