I think it would be a good idea for forum members to make nominations then do a poll/vote on who should be a moderator.
By nominating someone it doesn't mean they will want to be a moderator, they can indicate if they would be happy to.

You know what you could do to help here? Start walking away from useless arguments. State your (typically very smart) point of view and then move on. Pity the readers !
