My crazy diet experiments (3+ years)
Quote from Paola on November 18, 2021, 9:43 amMy blood test:
I did a blood test while being on the carnivore diet.
I was low on:
- B2/riboflavin: This was extremely low and I think is the cause for my sebderm/dry skin/dandruff.
- Magnesium
- Selenium
- Iron (after eating only red meat for months lol)
I was high on:
- Alkaline Phosphatase
- B6
- B1
I wasnt tested for Vitamin A.
After doing some research on vitamin a toxicity, I found out that B2 and Selenium is needed to detoxify Vitamin A. Also high Alkaline Phosphatase could indicate vitamin A toxicity. I dont think the b2 deficiency was caused by carnivore, but maybe it got even worse on it. My guess is I have been b2 deficient ever since I took accutane.
Hi Max,
thank you for sharing your dietary experiments in such a detailed way.
If you were low in iron after eating only meat, this is a strong indication for malabsorption. It could be due to low stomach acid, not enough pancreatic enzymes, or not enough bile in the liver, or a combination of all those.
Vitamin B1 deficiency (can't be detected by normal blood test in most cases) can cause low stomach acid.
Supplementing with B1, Betaine HCL or taking apple cider vinegar with the food, could possibly improve the situation.
Low in selenium, but high AP - this is an indication that your liver is struggling. Can't produce adequate amounts of glutathione. This could be due to the malabsorption (low stomach acid, digestive enzymes), or it could be causing the malabsorption by way of Vitamin A toxicity.
Just my 2 cents ...

@max-3 I have the theory that, for some, food sensitivities increase on the vA detox (and during vA toxicity) because sulphation gets clogged up. I don’t know exactly why, although I have several ideas.
I am a lot more sensitive to foods now 3 years into detox than I ever have been in my life. Can’t tolerate salicylates. Can’t tolerate amines. Can’t tolerate sulphur, particularly as thiols. Where do all these food sensitivities meet? Sulphation (sulfation). We need sulphate to deal with these foods. I think I must be seriously lacking.

You are going to great lengths to attempt to prove that fruit is not our natural diet, yet you're fine eating tons of white rice following this low VA theory. I'd love to see you harvest and process all of this white rice by hand...hardly natural.
I appreciate your views, but your links to YouTube videos don't do much for me. But hey, it seems that our back and forth has further convinced you that you're on the right path, and that's really all that matters. Gotta do what feels right to you. Wish you all the best.
@michele can i contact you on any social media platform? Instagram Facebook anything.. I am suffering from same symptoms like you due to Accutane and I got a ray of hope reading your experience.
Please help!
