Think about Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan. I bring up south east asian countries to deter people from using propagandist arguments like diagnosis rates.
I could bring in pretty much all African countries as examples of non-existent autoimmune rates if I wanted to but it’s quite predictable what people’s responses will be.
So you dont think it's vitamin A related? Sorry if I dont get your point - Just thinking of the data showing high A consumption in Afrcan countries too.

Forget about Africa. The point is there is a significant difference in long term health outcomes between developed “western” countries and developed asian countries. Finding out what is causing this difference is the key to finding out what is making everyone sick. Probably best to find out now before those countries inevitably become as sick as the western ones.

I try not to speculate too much on what they have a lot of in their diet. IMO it’s difficult to determine without comprehensive studies. However I do know for a fact that these regions barely consume dairy (relative to us). However I also understand that correlation does not equal causation.
It’s a tough puzzle.

You know, there is lots of Weston Price Foundation bashing here, but that is exactly what he set out to do and his book is genius. His ideas about vitamin A might not have been right, but his book is still genius. You see, he thought that everything in the food that brought on perfect dental health was needed, but some of it might not have been. The successful tribes may have been healthy in spite of bad things in their diets.
In my opinion, what Price saw, and what we see with Asian people is:
People Still on the Diet they are Micro-evolved To.
Every step away from that is how you might possibly become sick.
I believe that one of the worst things we (Europeans in America) ever did was stop eating Lard. Another thing is we stopped feeding wheat middlings to animals. Another is using poisons for agriculture.
One of the things that stands out to me is that poor people, out there grazing their animals on good pure grass are probably going to be healthier than rich people eating chemical agricultural food. There was once a picture of 3 or 4 poor Mexican children in some WAPF literature and they had wide, handsome faces. Next to their healthy faces were the thin, crooked-teeth faces of American children.

I'm inclined to think you might be right though I cant see how that relates to the sub-subject we discussed. Also its worth remembering that the average life span there is shorter. But I belive a lot of the times the experienced health might be better there. Maybe its just due to less health services available??

Well Im not bashing WA as much as WAPF. But even though I think many aspects of traditional foods (meaning from 100-1000 years ago here) are more healthy then modern ones, but its also important to remember that the main factor in developing this square jaw and dental space is chewing. If you eat less chewy food growing up you dont develop properly - it hasnt much to do with the quality of food. And better means better for sure, but doesnt mean it was good. (example: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/05/190531100544.htm)
I'll throw in another one too though its just an example. plenty of research on it: https://www.advanceddentistrybutler.com/blog/why-its-important-to-give-children-hard-to-chew-foods/

Yes it conicides quite well. Also it explains the "exaggerated" side effects of the most severe cases he depicted. Of course if you eat basically sweetened tea and soft white bread you get deficiencies but you also get zero chewing resistence. But yes it coincides pretty well and you can observe the same process in more "primitive" societies in newer times. It includes also the lessened use of our mouths as a third hand.

Quote from Serkan on February 20, 2025, 6:35 amHello Tiago,
When you were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, what was your C-peptide level? And how did your C-peptide levels change afterward? Did you have regular tests?
My daughter was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 9, unfortunately. I would love to benefit from your experiences.
