My pulmonoligists says he's seen patients lose vision with low vA...
Quote from somuch4food on April 16, 2019, 2:42 pmI can attest first hand that there's a relationship between inflammation and blurry/tunnel vision.
I've seen an ebb and flow between good and bad peripheral vision and how I feel.
And to reassure you, I ate some liver pate a few days ago. So, vitamin A is not what I need to correct this problem.
(I'm not following a low A diet anymore for the moment since I did not get a bad response from eating liver pate, but I find colorful veggies challenging and so, I'm still invested on that front)

Quote from Bella on April 16, 2019, 3:00 pmI think it’s wise to avoid unnecessary radiation. It was probably a medicine called albuterol. It will not hurt but it just treats symptoms of airways inflammation. The root cause is inflammation but it’s hard to pinpoint what is causing that inflammatory response. I had some breathing issues that resolved completely after a few months on low A. I’m not a doctor btw just worked as a respiratory therapist for @20 years.

so the liver pate caused an ebb flow with your vision? But you also said liver late didn’t give you a bad reaction?
@bella
Im close to two months on this low A diet. I hope I see some kind of real improvement as well. It would be nice to go places without worrying about breathing in things that would cause my lungs burn. Real life experiences like yours and many others on here gives me more hope than what medical papers say. I favor results. 🙂

Quote from somuch4food on April 16, 2019, 4:50 pm@john I don't think it's the liver pate atm from what I felt eating it. I made a few mistakes in the last few weeks that made me more inflamed (I tried whey powder, asparagus, cantaloupe and clementines). I actually thought I had a cold/detox, but after 2 weeks I knew it was something else. Only cantaloupe seemed fine, I have yet to figure out why. My vision is especially bad today and I'm definately not A deficient with the butter I use and the liver pate I ate. I'm thinking it might be the molasses cookies I ate all day as a snack. There's a bunch of spices in there and molasses is high in iron...
I'm liberally exploring foods atm to figure out what my body likes since I plateaued on my lowish A diet and can't seem to conciliate my life with a really low A intake. I'm having some bad days, but I'm learning about my body in a less stressful manner than when I was trying to absolutely avoid A.
Grant in another thread mentioned micronutrients that help properly metabolise retinoic acid. I think I will be exploring that avenue.
