Neck Hernia
Quote from Guest on February 2, 2019, 8:28 pmHi everyone,
My mother in law has a neck hernia that happened during travelling 4 years ago that involved two long flights. There was no strong turbulence or any kind of trauma like that which I find odd? She also had neck pain for years prior to this.
She has trouble sleeping because of neck pain and is often woken from pain at the back of her head. She has also had worsening vision in the last couple of months and sometimes has yellow patches in her vision. She also has noises in her ears like whooshing sounds and feels like her head is swollen. This might not be the right description but her English is basic and my Russian much worse.
She believes all these symptoms are caused by her neck issue but I'm wondering if vitamin A might be the cause. She has seen many different doctors and has had little results. She recently had another scan due to increased pain and it showed nothing new except that her bone marrow looked inflamed in that area.
The problem is I think she will be extremely sceptical. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of specific case studies that relate to problems like she has or anything that might help persuade her to look into it.
Thank you!

It will likely take alot of reading to find it all in the ebooks and blog postings. Maybe try telling her she doesn't have much to lose by trying a low vitamin A diet for around 6 months and that it could make a big difference? I know it is a hard sell, though I don't understand why if you are suffering why not try something outside the box? One thought I have is that for many people I know, one of the very few pleasures they have in life is eating yummy food in and out of social situations. I guess another hard thing about this all, is that for some people they feel worse on the low A diet but don't understand how detox works and so go back to eating the way they did.
Maybe another angle is showing her that her history with food and supplements is high in vitamin A, if indeed it has been. Of all the nutrients, vitamin A toxicity is more common than any other nutrient toxicity and has a multitude symptoms. I think both Dr. Smith and Grant of listed all of the many issues of vitamin A can cause. Certainly bone issues and pain are one as well as vission problems and cranial pressure. Those are well documented though maybe slight details will differ from your Mother in Law's.
