New to low vitamin A diet(Tobacco)

PreviousPage 3 of 3

Unless something supplants this new understanding of diet, I see no reason to change. I might have to take in some vitamin a in the next months due to strict work travel conditions and I'm not happy about it. I'm glad to have the knowledge to mitigate it best possible.

People way more knowledgeable than me (and I'm guessing most posters here) follow the carnivore diet and write on it at length. They follow a much stricter diet than me and show across the board fantastic results. As for "disbalances", they suspect that many systems misfire in the presence of toxins, they are polluted, and have been damaged.

Supplementation by vitamin or mineral may or may not be advisable, I wouldn't know, that's beyond me. But anecdotally, most pure carnivores I've spoken to eschew all supplements. They value purity of intake, and believe it helps them recover faster.

Look at the families now raising their kids pure carnivore. Their kids are astoundingly healthy. I think that also explains the mental aspect. I think all problems people have with redundant diet are a result of conditioning. You were raised to eat variety, and so it feels natural. Especially nowadays, it feels like a luxury, even a lifestyle for some.

Personally I got over that years ago. It's been a decade I have tried out different diets and studied different approaches to eating. This from a guy who was raised by a chef, worked in restaurants, and ate very adventurously. My health was poor and my weight high so I knew I needed a change. That was 2014. By 2016 or so I knew that my belief that food was meant to be some cornucopia, put on a pedestal, was wrong. It was real only in my mind.

It felt a little sad at first but I got over it. Eventually I changed to where now, I value the safety of routine and the health it brings. All the a priori rules, three meals a day, every food group, plants and vegetables, many colors, they mean nothing to me. I hope anyone struggling with this aspect can feel better. I definitely did after being introspective about what I really valued.

I also am really optimistic about the variety possible in eating the different foods that lack vitamin a. Although it's not something I chase, I have played around with it and found many acceptable substitutions for classic comfort foods that come out as good or better than the retinol-containing recipes. These sorts of foods can really help those struggling with the transition. If only I had resources I would love to make a video series about cooking with "Zero Micrograms".
