Night Blindness, a temporary symptom?
Quote from Milivoje on July 22, 2024, 2:09 pmHey all,
I have been following a Vit A low diet for 2 months now. Before I have started, I overdosed with liver and vitamin A supplements. That got me a huge variety of symptoms with some of them being bone pain, food intolerances, increased sensitivity to light and join pain.
Food intolerances are going away and all other symptoms are slowly disappearing. However I am starting to experience blured vision and night blindness. Is this a temporary thing? I am actually scared to death and this is starting to affect my daily life. These 2 symptoms are very severe right now. Is it just a temporary thing or am I putting my life in danger?
Any info on this would be appreciated!

Multiple people (including myself) have had periods of night blindness and have always recovered. So, yes, it is probably a temporary condition. It can be caused by multiple factors. However, you may be experiencing an increase in serum vitamin A levels (aka the detox setback).
Please see my blog post here:

In addition to what I wrote there you might also consider taking baking soda .
I don’t think you are putting your life in danger, but eating liver and taking vA supplements probably was.

Quote from Milivoje on July 22, 2024, 4:06 pm@ggenereux2014 Thank you so much for taking time to respond to my question! I hope it's a huge Vitamin A dump by the liver because my food intolerances were never this good. At one point I was only tolerating white meat and nothing else. Now I can eat plenty of different sources of protein and I don't react to them at all...

I assure you this is temporary. I experienced this during my early stages, but it eventually resolved. The blurry vision used to get worse at dawn.
One word of advice: it is easy to get anxious during the recovery phase because some symptoms might reappear, like fatigue or eye issues. However, I would like to remind you not to get carried away by them and become anxious. Any type of symptom should be temporary, not chronic. If they are chronic, it means you might be eating something you shouldn't, or something is wrong.
I dont have blurry vision anymore
