Oregano oil
Quote from Jiří on October 17, 2020, 11:09 amAny experiences with oregano oil? I think I have some serious issues with some pathogens mainly in lymphatic system and also intestine. Dr. will not give me prescription for antibiotics. So from what I read oregano oil should have very powerful antibiotic effect. I can buy here this product https://www.iherb.com/pr/Now-Foods-Oregano-Oil-90-Softgels/731?gclid=CjwKCAjwrKr8BRB_EiwA7eFapmZvFWTr2pC91QsG_gLMqnzoLgrM_qdG7bFXqD-odMyktumkAHKYhRoC_esQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Quote from lil chick on October 19, 2020, 6:45 amhi Jiri, I once went whole hog trying to kill off things in my body and that was when i learned that herbs can be just as toxic as drugs. If you are already dealing with the toxicity of VA, it might be hard on you. However, I think that our ancestors knew some things about this, and that is why the culinary herbs are used on a gentle daily basis, as well as things like apple cider vinegar, red wine, and foods like kefir, kraut, kombucha, yogurt. Hubs thinks garlic helps him sometimes with some of his issues. Just this morning he was chewing a slice of raw garlic! ;0
I haven't stopped using culinary herbs (in moderation). I think that dried ones probably have less carotenes than fresh. (because light breaks down pigments).
I have a lot of weeds in my lawn, darn it. I could douse it with roundup, or I could patiently weed and encourage grass and clover to grow. I can mow it high to shade out weed seeds, and water it when it is dry. It might not ever be weed free, but each year it will get better and better.
Tim-2 had a better time of killing off germs in his gut, and he is tougher over-all than me, and can do things (like his hydrogen peroxide mouth-swish) that I can do because I'm just a lot more delicate. You could look back at some of his posts to find what he used. You might be less delicate than me. Almost everything I try to do backfires, I need an extremely cautious approach. I'm so sick of everything backfiring, LOL. It's annoying. 😉
I have used oregano oil topically on some of my family's warts and that worked. I've also rubbed it on tick bites.
That being said I'm actually resorting to a topical antibiotic today (in my nostrils) and do agree that we might now and then end up infected as VA toxicity makes things inflamed. I do sort of wonder if my nostril infection was part of the B vitamins backfiring on me. It stirred up too much crap. I really just need to stick to food.
I'm having very good results with oil pulling, which might lessen the immune system's load a bit. It's gentle.

"For anyone having acute health issues you might also consider the fact that by incorporating Oil Pulling you are also minimizing bacteria in the mouth from entering the blood and lymph system and travelling throughout your body. Yuk!
The mouth is a battleground for bacteria. This is a age-old remedy that not only benefits the gums and the teeth but is also good for your overall health.
And it will make your teeth whiter and your breath fresher.
Since adding Oil Pulling to my own morning program I can certainly say how wonderful my teeth and gums are feeling.

Quote from Jiří on October 19, 2020, 7:33 am@tim-2 from a lot of reviews on that oregano oil + fenel oil + ginger oil from Now foods it looks like around 70% people give it 5 stars and say that it works for everything fungus, candida, sibo, cold, viruses even allergies etc. and the rest of the people give 1 start and say that they can't take it because it is causing crazy stomach pain.. So will see in which category of people I will fall. It looks like you need to take it with big meal. Hopefully I will experience herx reaction from bacteria die off. So like headache, fever, nausea, diarrhea..

Quote from lil chick on October 20, 2020, 5:53 amRegarding herx, I'm not sure it is 100% "die off". Some of it is poisoning.
I started down the road to becoming an herbalist, had begun taking the classes.
Then I realized that the reason herbs work is because they are plant poisons. Just as VA is a plant poison. They are part of the passive (or even active) immune system of the plant.
IMO, the detox pathways (that also get rid of VA) are probably involved in detoxing these other poisons. And, of course, as you say, you will also have to detox anything killed off.
What's more, you may kill off friendly beasts. Germs are your friends! 😉

Quote from Jiří on October 20, 2020, 6:41 am@lil-chick I don't like to take plants for drug like effect. But I wanted to try some antibiotics for years now and because Dr. will not give me prescription. Oregano oil with high carvacrol content should be the next best thing maybe even more effective and more safe. Anyway it is 3 hours I had it with the meal and no stomach pain. So that's great. I can take it. Will see what happens after couple of days..

Quote from Jiří on October 20, 2020, 9:15 am@lil-chick no thx. I don't think we need probiotics to have healthy colon. There are some crazy horror stories from people taking probiotics. I think they can be much more damaging than antibiotics and I don't think that it works like you will take probiotics and that will make you healthy. I think it is exactly the other way around. You need to be healthy and that will fix your microbiome..

Quote from lil chick on October 20, 2020, 10:39 amI didn't say take probiotics. I said to eat probiotic food. I've read that the name kefir actually means "feel good". I also have seen bad things happen from taking probiotics. My guess would be at the very least that they cause too much change too fast. You don't even have to eat fermented things. Altough I do believe they are helpful. You could just eat an organic veggie that wasn't cooked, or raw milk.
