Orlistat hack

A way to flush out your vitamin A would be using orlistat or xenical. It blocks the uptake of fat. It is prescribed as slimming medicine. In response to dietary fat, your liver will release bile into the intestinal tract, which serves to make the fat available for uptake. The bile salts are redirected back to the liver to make new bile. On its way towards the intestinal tract, it tags along part of the the fat soluble vitamins stored in the liver, a, d, e, k. They will be reabsorbed along with the fat in your meal. But since orlistat blocks fat uptake, it remains in the stool and ends up in your toilet pot, along with the absorbed fat soluble vitamins. It is a known adverse effect of this medicine. I take a dose of 120 mg with my fattiest meal. If you eat a fat free meal, orlistat is useless. Too much fat in your meal, and you will have to take precautions, since your anus will leak oil.

In my country capsules of 60 mg are over the counter drugs, higher doses need medical prescription and supervision. I don't know what is optimal, but using it for more than one meal a day gives cramping, gass and other discomfort. Since the normal way of vitamin a elimination is quite slow, I believe this hack can speed up the process. You can take it during of within one and half hour after a meal. I suggest to use it with caution and not as a way to binge on pizza, because I doubt that it completely blocks fat uptake. Regular use of orlistat for weight loss seems to be a bit disappointing; another reason why I restrict my intake to once a day, lest it loses its effectivity.

Another hack I use is to only take carotenoids in fat free meals, because they can only pass the intestinal wall in the presence of dietary fat. Meaning that I can eat fruits and green vegetables, as long as I don't eat fat along with it.
