Oxalate dumping on low VA diet.

I’ve been eating low VA the last weeks that helps me a lot, I am very grateful to Grant for all the information, books. But I've found that oxalate dumping is part of my detox symptoms. I am now in FB low oxalate group and typical symptoms of oxalate dumping are: flu like symptoms, sore throat, sinus problems, headaches, joint pains, brain fog, fatigue, low back pains, kidney pains, kidney problems, cloudy urine/crystals in the urine, grainy or sandy stools, skin rashes, itchy skin, blurry vision, incontinence or urgent need to go, eye pain (like getting poked or stabbing pain), insomnia, irritability or becoming more emotional, depression….

The pains are worse if I eat oxalate-rich foods: cocoa, carob, almonds, sesame, nuts... (I wanted to add calcium, magnesium, copper and manganese to my mostly meat-white rice-beans diet). I think many people on a zero, low VA diet who eat mainly rice and meat, limited nuts and seeds and have the first weeks intense "detox symptoms", they may have oxalate dumping. If the dietary oxalate intake suddenly decreases, the body starts to excrete oxalates immediately, therefore, oxalate must be reduced gradually as detox symptoms are very strong in some people. In low vitamin A diet, significant sources of oxalates are only potatoes, whole grains (spelt, rye, amarant, buckwheat...they contain little vitamin A and lutein and therefore most people eat white rice and white flour products), beans (cannellini, black..) and high oxalate nuts and seeds. Maybe there is some connection between storing vitamin A and oxalate in the body, if the body is overloaded with one toxin, it will be harder for the body to rid of other toxins.

Hi Bludicka I really appreciate your info about low oxalate diets.  I had noticed a return of symptoms after eating potatoes, black beans, or pasta. I had tried a low oxalate diet before, for my autoimmune condition, with no results.  So I tried removing those 2 foods and felt much better- this was a little over a month ago.  Now, I just found out my formerly low blood pressure has spiked to 138/90,used to be 110/60.  Could this be oxalate dumping?    Could you describe how you combine low ox, low A?
