Pale skin
Quote from Sblumel on February 20, 2019, 9:23 amHi guys,
I am new here and since october into the zero/low vitamin a diet.
I am in treatment at Dr.Smith and so far I have a lot of improvements I have to say.
But most of the time I have a really pale skin.
Besides that when it is really worse I have also thin hair, dizziness and problems to find the right words.
Is there someone who has maybe similar problems?
I experimented a lot with vitamin c and took up to 15 grams per day but I felt no difference on this days.
What could be important is the fact that I have not much body fat, I never really had.
And I do a lot of exercise, daily.
sorry if there is something wrong in my grammar, I am from Austria so mother tongue is german.
Thanks

Quote from Orion on February 20, 2019, 11:41 amSince you are following low vitamin A, when it gets warmer, full body sunlight exposure could be very helpful. My skin is starting slowly to lose the yellow/orange/brownish tinge all over(especially around the eyes, feet, and hand calluses), I am becoming paler, very noticeable in very bright light. I am taking this a a good sign.
Another angle is the copper melanin connection, you could be low or high in copper, so doing a hairtest analysis might offer insight.

Quote from Sblumel on February 20, 2019, 12:06 pmI understand what you mean but I already had some really good days, I would say days beetween my detox circles, where I had such a nice skin color, much darker complexion.
I did as well a htma and indeed my free copper was high and my ceruloplasmin was low.

I think sticking long term to low vit A will continue to show progress and yes copper is a very tricky mineral to balance, but TEI is supposed to the be good at fixing it. I am close to 4 months in with very good results, but definitely will do this long term before I decide to incorporate vit A foods.

Quote from Guest on February 21, 2019, 12:12 amI try to eat meat once per day, mainly chicken, I would say about 150-250 gramm.
I had iron overload at my last testing but I will do my next consultation with Dr. Smith next month.
We had just contact through email and he means it could be a detox reaction.
Today I will do my second blood donation, last time I had some pretty good days after it.

Quote from YH on February 21, 2019, 5:19 pmMaybe try increasing protein consumption from meat to twice a day. During detox phases, I found more meat to be helpful. It is also an important source of B vitamins, taurine, zinc, which are harder to come by if eating less vegetables. Also, I'd reconsider adding ruminant meats like beef, veal, or lamb(veal and lamb are lower in iron). As you start to feel better, you may not need as much meat.
Also, for Vitamin C, I'd check out golden kiwis from Italy. One kiwi has twice the RDA and the golden ones don't have any Vitamin A.

Quote from Sblumel on February 22, 2019, 8:15 amI will try that, I mean I do a lot of strength workouts and should in generell consume more protein I think.
I mean I go now through detox and make 6 strength workouts the week, maybe that is too much or I should increase my protein intake and especially my zinc level.
Thanks so far
