Palmitoylethanolamide

Does anyone know anything about this new "natural" pain killer? I'd try it, but it says it comes from egg yolks. It would be wonderful if it worked unless it messes up detoxing.

  • Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a biologically active lipid that was first identified and isolated in 1957 as an active anti-inflammatory agent in egg yolks. It is found in the tissues of many living things and various food sources. Since its discovery, over 500 scientific papers have been published on PEA's anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties.*

I don't know whether it contains retinol, but I take it every night. I have a weird itching problem at night, even when eating low vitamin A, and this really helps. (When I eat fruits/veggies my skin burns more than itches, probably due to food allergies, possibly due to vitamin A content). It also takes the edge off if I have a headache. I never take Tylenol anymore.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Eliza! I just ordered some. It would be wonderful if it worked for pain without having side effects or affecting detox.
