{progesterone
Quote from Judy on December 19, 2019, 5:11 pmI've been taking progesterone for several years. I already quit taking estrogen because of horrific side effects, but a gyn suggested just taking progesterone alone. I recently ran out and the doctor I'm seeing now refused to give me any more. I would have preferred to taper off, but had to go almost cold turkey. I'm feeling crummy but don't know if it is progesterone withdrawal or just a flare from the VA detox. Has anyone had experience with getting off progesterone? What were your symptoms and how long did it take?

Quote from Jenny on December 20, 2019, 2:07 amSorry to hear you are feeling so crummy. I’ve not had experience with progesterone but as you say stopping anything suddenly is not the best way for the body. I’m surprised your doctor didn’t give you enough to taper the dose down - how frustrating for you.

Quote from kikileah on December 20, 2019, 8:10 amI had to use progesterone at the beginning of my last pregnancy. My midwife had me take a natural form called Bezwecken ProgonB-L 4X 10 ml. It can be found on Amazon. It can be applied topically or taken sublingually (which I did). I can't help you with dosing but perhaps you could figure out a small dose that helps alleviate your symptoms and taper off from there.

Quote from Judy on December 20, 2019, 1:57 pmThanks for the suggestions, JAJ, Romaine, and Kikileah. I'm feeling better today, but I don't know if I'm out of woods yet or not. I hadn't thought of looking for OTC progesterone.
