Does the psyllium work?

Since I also have problems with peristalsis, I am interested in understanding this. Although I would not take soluble fiber because of the recycling of vitamin A by bacteria, especially when there is already constipation. At one time, the starch-free diet worked very well for me, but I (fool) I started eating it again, and the second time I can't achieve the same result. I also have varicose veins, so I think I also have problems with high NO.

Once I made a long list of things that increase NO: arginine, iron(inos), PTH, TSH, estrogen, prolactin (nnos), ammonia(inos), vitamin A (lol) (nnos), vitamin E (nnos), homocysteine (inos)

I would also not recommend anyone to blindly take magnesium, I have had serious problems because of this before.

Sorry for the delay, been dealing with a lot of health issues.

I only took the psyllium capsules a few times and didn't continue them.   Although I might start taking them again if it were to help with lower my increasingly high cholesterol. Will need to research how to lower it. My vericose veins are still flairing up on my lower legs, seems certain foods are a factor, possibly histamine high foods, and salt seems to give me MS symptoms. Google confirmed this after I realized what my high salt consumption with my symptoms.
Thanks for the list, maybe I need to stop the vitamin E cause it seems to give me greasy stool, and not sure if it's effecting my cholesterol.
I have had a good handle on my constipation since this post, but had to take a dose of lactulose for the first time in more than a month at 3am last night from gut toxicity,  I've been able to eat foods that usually cause me constipation past two weeks and I think I pushed it too far - bread, pastries, waffles, egg noodles.
I'm waiting for the results of my recent blood work to see if the past few months of gym, saunas, cutting out of eggs, minimizing bad oils, and being regular has helped any.   Although I have been eating a ton of Natures path flax n pumpkin seed granola which I think is helping me with my constipation but I'm concerned if the fats in there have a negative effect on my cholesterol.  We shall find out in a couple of days.

Phytoestrogens also definitely increase NO, so it's probably worth giving up flax seeds and the like.

I haven't figured out the exact list of foods that cause me constipation yet. But starch is definitely one of the factors, high fat content maybe too.

Thanks,  I believe high fat helps as it releases bile which helps lubricates and move things along.  I started adding more fats after reading the book Fiber Menace by Konstantin.   It seemed to make a lot of sense and helped me reduce constipation and symptoms. Also low fodmap seems to help.   Banana's and mangos seems to worsen everything. Likely fruits in general. There is a place call Z-library where you can download books for free, all legal according to wiki and other sources.  Strange how that works.

Thank you, I think I'm still far from being able to understand difficult books in English 🙄

I should note that once again I was convinced that a complete rejection of starches is the only way to cure my constipation. Yesterday I got tired of it all and I removed all the starch (as well as coconut oil, which seems to also tend to aggravate it all.). Today I went to the toilet 3 times in full. Excellent outflow of bile. I continued to take taurine and B12 and it didn't seem to make it worse (or maybe it helped). Olive oil, I think, really tends to help my peristalsis (Ray Peat advice). But it spoils my concentration.

Potatoes and rice are the worst foods for my intestine. I'm not sure about the bread.
