puddleduck’s progress (CFS symptoms)

PreviousPage 18 of 18

ouch, that sounds so sad.. Have you tried if your body likes raw better? Because my body seems to, especially now when its summer. I eat about everything raw now except the legumes. Not religious though.. but I just love it, its like it energizes me. I try not to eat more than 100 grams of cheese / day so I do limit it, also eating fish and eggs and some meat (way less)

I do zero supplements now. I want to get it from food and thats why I try to keep my diet varied so I get everything. I just dont want to mess with supplements really anymore.

I am also a lot in the sun, preferably without anything on, so I have a even tan all over my body. It feels very healing.

I like small boobs lol. I didnt enjoy the bigger version at all haha.. But I can see if the boobies are super small, it would be fun to have them little fuller. I always have to buy the smallest bra though and i like it that way, so easy and comfortable. I dont even use a bra most of the time.

So weird your teeth are eroding. Mine never did that on carnivore either, but I was never religious about it. I did add some salad etc here and there and i also been a LOT in the sun always. Sounds like you are missing something in the diet. Are you a lot in the sun and in nature too?

I dont even know what to say to this... my reality is so far away. I cant lose connection with nature because then I am lost, that is my rule Nr.1

My sister had sun sensitivity and the advice I gave her was to be more in the sun, which she did, and it disappeared. To me the more we disconnect from our origin, the worse our health gets. Avoiding the sun/natural light and eating supplements would be the last thing I would do after what I have learned so far.

@inger Do you mean eating my meat raw? I know there's an entire movement about this, but I don't trust it to eat my meat raw aside from the fact that it's not appetizing to me at all. In regards to veggies, there isn't any to choice for me. (and fruits are out anyway,bc I lack some fructose processing genes).

Preferably I'd like my diet to be the only nutrient source as well, but that feels like a distant dream to me.

It's not really about size for me either. Smaller rounded breasts are beautiful imo, it's the shape/form they've taken on which irritates me and I find unsigthly and doesn't feel feminine. It's also a downside that I would need to have a very flat and lean midsection to not stick out over the breasts.

In regards to the sun... I used to love to go on a walk in the sunshine early or later in the day , very relaxing, but as of the last couple of years (when all my mysterious symptoms/walking/leg issues started) sunshine made these things worse. The first couple of years it was still manageable by wearing a cap and walking mostly in the shade/avoiding peak sun hours, but over the years it became progressively worse to the point where it felt the sun is out to destroy me. My lower legs would feel stiff and weak at the same time, painful and uncontrolable and I would start to walk/feel unbalanced and drunklike in general. I used to say that it feels like something's being pulled from my bones,bc I just don't know how to describe the feeling. To now, where I hardly even get outside my appartement anymore....and taking the trash outside already is a major chore. (My heart beats strongly when I get back from it and legs tremble).

When on carnivore I still ate goatcheese and goatghee daily,so I wasn't strictly meat-only. Goatdairy has a fair amount of VA....and the VA is what made my teeth erode over the past couple of years. I already notice a difference when I've been a bit more lax with VA (as in having some fattier meat) for having a better bowel movement. Not to mention,as it feels, the VA my body/liver keeps pouring out. Where's the pause button when you need it.

Yesterday I read in an article that alcohol prevents fat burning, that made sense as to why I never seen to be able to lose my midsection fat (and why I feel I seem to be mostly losing muscle.... probably why a moderate protein/high fat diet didn't work anymore). VA is an alcohol as well, but I suspect I have an overgrowth of certain bacteria/pathogens going on which create a lot of alcohol....so even the slightest bit eaten of VA has a toxic effect bc of this?  The thing is that there's only one lab I could find here, which offers the Genova GI-Map test and they currently have a patient stop.....not to mention that I don't have €430 burning in my pockets (my supplements take up all of my spare monthly budget...and that even takes a lot of puzzling to get it to fit in.) In order to tackle an overgrowth I assume I have to know which species it is, so I know what it feeds on,what reduces/kills it etc.,rigth? Or is there some kind of general solution which works?

well, you could try, but it has to be good quality.. and I wouldnt eat only meat, I would add vegetables and other foods. Also not everything raw, something cooked but most part raw.

It sounds like your liver/bile is very clogged up, to me. Did you try the soluble fiber path to clean out the bile?

Carnivore could clog up your liver, especially devoid of sunlight, which do increase bile flow quite a bit. So living an indoor life and carnivore, with lots of supplement... imho not a good idea. Not good for the liver.

Do you have a journal here? Then I could answer there and not in Puddleduck´s journal 🙂

Hi @puddleduck, I have been thinking about you a lot, as your near-vegan approach makes much more sense to me since I've spent two months obsessing over The Right Next Steps after my son's medical emergency... The other day I pointed out to a Hostile Questioner (no curiosity, so no details needed), "We eat a mostly plant based diet that includes meat."

I'm very curious about your experiences, especially with soluble fiber, because you mention that it causes (caused?) a "constipation reaction" which is something I noticed in myself years ago, but never really scrutinized the way that soluble fiber is SUPPOSED to have the opposite reaction. I wonder if, as per Hurd's theories, this indicates excessive not-properly-disposed-of hormones...?

Anyway, I know you're not following any one single protocol, but I wondered if you have tried Karen Hurd's constipation advice - to basically eat up to a cup and a half of nuts every day, or enough to poop regularly, along with her other directives (beans, etc).

I have found that all the beans, plus a ton of nuts, leads to great poops! Best of my adult life, as far as I can remember, actually. 🙂 However, when I don't eat many or any nuts, I will inexplicably skip a day of pooping, and a cup and a half seems crazy excessive in terms of calories alone, so I'm curious about other approaches. What is the activated charcoal experiment you mention, exactly, or did I miss your explanation a while back?

@puddleduck  Hi! I was wondering how you are doing now?

When this thread came up I read the post before Viktor's which mentions Karen Hurd's idea of a cup and a half of nuts every day.   I saw a video not too long ago, can't find it now, in which a woman traded her chip habit for a nut habit and she almost died from too many oxalates.    Kidney shut down or something.    For people who tend to get kidney stones, this idea especially might not be so great.    So much suffering with kidney stones!

I watched that video, too, and found it fascinating!

The patient in question was consuming less than 400 mg of calcium daily, which is only 1/3 of the RDA for post menopausal women. And she was consuming around 600 mg of oxalate daily.

The Trying Low Oxalate Facebook Group and Sally K. Norton believe that oxalate should be reduced as much as possible. However, the less extreme recommendations of Nurse Jill Harris might've been enough to prevent this outcome: https://kidneystonediet.com/

It is a good reminder about the importance of calcium intake, for those of us who are avoiding dairy or do not tolerate it.

@puddleduck yeah I don't have any good source of calcium in my diet so I at least sprinkle calcium citrate powder on all my meals. I wonder how much of that calcium I absorb and how much of it just binds to oxalates in my meal and so they cancel each other.. But I try to limit oxalates for sure.. The only somewhat high oxalate food I am eating is buckwheat. Because it is such powerhouse in terms of micronutrients.. I think it is ok to have even 100g of buckwheat if it's the only high oxalate food in my diet.. But some people really eat loads of it. Cashews, almonds, spinach, cocoa, spinach you name it..

Similar experience here with nuts, oxalates and stones.  8/3/2003.  I suck at remembering dates.  I remember that one.
