Pulsatile tinnitus
Quote from Judy on March 31, 2020, 3:24 pmI've had tinnitus for many years. It may have started when I used a Retin A skin cream, which also seems to be what caused me to develop bone spurs, bunions, and fibromyalgia. I suspect that it is all the result of vitamin A pulling calcium out of the bones and putting it where it doesn't belong. I've been on the no-A diet for 14 months now and the fibro pain, brain fog, and lots of other symptoms are much better, but not the tinnitis or the bone related problems. Maybe it takes longer to fix bones.

Quote from Jenny on May 12, 2020, 6:27 amJust thought I’d update this thread in case anyone reads this later & it is a problem for them, as I think I’ve probably got to the bottom of why my pulsatile tinnitus had got so bad again.
I definitely think pulsatile tinnitus is linked to vA toxicity & high levels in the blood. I couldn’t understand why my vA had got high again BUT I’d just started the bean protocol. It turns out that if you start the bean protocol quite aggressively rather than slowly you get a dumping of vA. This totally fits with an increase in vA toxicity & symptoms of which pulse tinnitus seems to be my most reliable detector. I’d also put on some weight on the bean protocol - another vA toxicity symptom for me. I reduced the beans & am slowly increasing the soluble fibre this time. My pulse tinnitus has completely gone away.
Other thing I did was actually increase salt as potassium foods seem to make it worse (Dr Smith suggestion) so this may have helped. I also supplemented some B vitamins intermittently & if vA toxicity was having its effect through causing a deficiency this could have helped. However, I’m sure the beans were to blame as they caused a surge in vA. Not that they’re a bad thing (I’m sure soluble fibre is essential to the vA detox) but I should probably know that all changes should be introduced very slowly!
Therefore if you get a return of pulse tinnitis when you’d got rid of it as I had then look carefully at what you are doing? Are you doing something new that is agitating vA & causing an increase?

Hey i noticed some inflammation when ramping up the beans, and had a worsening of some symptoms. So i decided to not go so crazy with the beans. What soluble fiber do you use ?

Quote from Jenny on May 13, 2020, 3:11 amYes I think it’s fairly standard to get vA toxicity symptoms when you up the soluble fibre unless you go super slowly I guess.
I’m eating beans, lentils, oats & apples. I’ve tried psyllium husk, acacia & sunfiber supplements. I’ve not settled on a favourite as I’m using them all up. I’m just increasing amount slowly following Dr Smiths advice as don’t want the pulsing back in my ears (can’t imagine it’s good for the body) or the other vA toxicity symptoms. At the moment I’m on x2 portions of beans & x2 2g supplements so that probably very approx 14g soluble fibre a day. I’m planning to get this higher - up to 30g maybe?

This website says that vitamin A is stored in the inner ear which interprets sound properly. Of course I would not take their advice to supplement vitamin A, so may be it just takes a long time to clear the body of vitamin A.
The tinnitus I have experienced has not gone in 2 1/2 years but the head pressure has improved on around 6 weeks of the low vitamin A diet.

Quote from Curtis on August 3, 2025, 12:46 pmI've had it for 5 years now. I'm at the point where I don't think it's going away.
I think it's EMF pulsations from the grid. Does it get worse around the time when the street lights are about to turn on?
Also did yours start when you were in a place where the electrical transformers or pylons were closer than usual?

Quote from lil chick on August 3, 2025, 2:49 pmI have a theory going that the body decides to circulate stored vitamin A sometimes and that can cause an uptick in this symptom.
